Resol Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 (edited) I have set up the map and bot for CTF, when the game resets, the flags are placed on the map, but not where they should be.After each flags is grabbed, the game runs fine, and after a goal is made the flags respawn correctly. The only issue is at the start of the game. Ok, so after further testing, I found out its not in the CTF plugin, its with the league plugin.Alone, the CTF bot works just fine, once I add the league part, it acts weird. At the start of the round, the two flags are randomly placed on the map, and no matter which one you try to grab from either team, it says you got "team 65535's flag" So, anyone know how to fix this? »Purge Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I think the league plugin has CTF built in, so try only using the league plugin (!@#$%^&*uming you're using the one on catid's site).
»Admiral Kirk Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 The CTF plugin has to be run on the Merv entirly by itself. When catid wrote it for MG he didnt spend a hole lot of time on it (!@#$%^&*uming your talking about the CTF plugin catid made for the merv, which is the only one I know of).
Resol Posted March 20, 2008 Author Report Posted March 20, 2008 Ok, well this is very strange. It is CTF 10.0 plugin found on catid's web page. And it its the a League plugin I am not 100% sure, but I think I found it at ssdownloads.com and it specificly says "This plugin is to be used with the CTF plugin"I am gonna try a few more things, and maybe look around for an updated plugin. Thanks.
»freakmonger Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I'm guessing you filled out the .ini/etc files correctly? 90% sure you won't find any updated CTF Plugin other than catids site.
»Purge Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 well, you can give my CTF plugin a try. it comes with a LVZ scoreboard and a few other things that catid's one doesn't have.
Resol Posted March 20, 2008 Author Report Posted March 20, 2008 (edited) Yes, I filled out the files, but was also having an issue with the team warps, so I simple edited the CFG file and added team warp locations. The only thing I can see that the 'league' plugin does, is make it so you need a squad, and adds a few functions to !enable / !disable commands. Does MG use the league plugin? Or any zone for that matter. Purge. lol. I was just gonna try that I downloaded your plugin from the site, wish me luck. Edited March 20, 2008 by Resol
Resol Posted March 20, 2008 Author Report Posted March 20, 2008 I enjoy your plugin a lot purge, to score board is a nice feature. And I like having how I can give the ships portal's and you just can't use them with the flag. But anyway.... The issue I am still having is when the flag game is reset. The flags are not placed where they should be. Once started the CTF plugin works fine, and I noticed that it never uses *flagreset and the league plugin does. So, is there a setting I can adjust in the .cfg file that will solve this issue.
»Purge Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 in the ctf.ini there should be a list of suggested server settings that you can set in the server.cfg. make sure those settings match. also, be sure to have oldspawn and newspawn coordinates match (in the ini).
Resol Posted March 20, 2008 Author Report Posted March 20, 2008 (edited) Well I have matched the settings, except the Team Respawn settings. I am actually having trouble with setting them. I am going to continue to mess around with these settings. If you would like to contact me in-game, message 'Resol' from any SSC zone._________________________________________________________________________ Now I have the settings and respawns all correct. So I have narrowed my problem down, it has nothing to do with the bots. When the flag game is reset, is when the flags are spawned into random places. Is there a setting that changes this? I have solved my problem, basically... Although the at the start of the game, the flags are not where they should be, I can use the !return command to place them in the correct location. I would still like to know why this happens. Edited March 20, 2008 by Resol
»Purge Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Team Respawn is where the teams (0 and 1) spawn. it's like the server.cfg's Team spawn setting, so just set oldspawn and newspawn to whatever you have there. !return is pretty useful, but it's useless when you're not there. I thought the bot already checked for the flags' locations... guess not (my CTF plugin was built off of catid's, which is why you have the same problem).
Resol Posted March 21, 2008 Author Report Posted March 21, 2008 Well, once it gets starting the rounds that follow are fine. I am using this with the league feature, and that locks the arena. This is not for my public map, so I think it will all be fine. It needs a Bot Op to set caps and start the game anyway. I even tried to set the Virtual prize setting to 0, all that did was crash the zone when it came time to load the flags lol.
ThunderJam Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 This was resolved correct? The server.ini setting bout timedropcentroid or w/e fixed it?
Resol Posted March 26, 2008 Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 TJ, not it was not. The league plugin is messed up in the code, but it is already. I found out, with the league plugin, u can !startround and it was say go, then do !enable and it will reset the flag game, and the bot will grapb the flags. However, if you !enable first then !startround, you will have to !return the flags.
»freakmonger Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 MG uses catids ctf plugin (MG was the reason it was made) & the league plugin.
Resol Posted March 27, 2008 Author Report Posted March 27, 2008 Looks they they would find the same issue with it then Someone said something about the bot being on a squad, I'm not sure if when the bot gets in to move the flags, it boots itself for not having squad or what. I guess its alright though, I can use it, it does its job.
