I got this in a spam mail, but I think its a good idea.

WHERE TO BUY USA GAS, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW. READ ON

Gas rationing in the mega_shok.gif's worked even though we grumbled about it.

It might even be good for us! The Saudis are boycotting American

goods. We should return the favor.

An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS.

Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money

into the coffers of Saudi Arabia . Just buy from gas companies

that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I

fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying

to kill me, my family, and my friends.

I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil

companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies

import Middle Eastern oil.

These companies import Middle Eastern oil:

S!@#$%^&*........................... 205,742,000 barrels

Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels

Exxon /Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels

Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels

Amoco............................62,231,000 barrels

Citgo gas is from South America, from a Dictator who hates

Americans. If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount

to over $18 BILLION! (oil is now $90 - $100 a barrel

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

Sunoco..................0 barrels

Conoco..................0 barrels

Sinclair.................0 barrels

B P/Phillips............0 barrels

Hess.......................0 barrels

ARC0....................0 barrels

If you go to Sunoco.com, you will get a list of the station

locations near you.

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy

and each is required to state where they get their oil and how

much they are importing.

I for one am going to buy from Hess from now on.

Even you liberals would probably agree with me on this one.

I'll admit that there is one flaw in the plan for this boycott though. The truth is that the US is the number 1 importer of oil, and that Saudi Arabia is the number 1 exporter, but this in turn implied a myth that the US imports a lot of oil from Saudi Arabia. Infact, the majority of the oil coming into the US comes from Canada and Mexico, and the majority of the oil coming out of Saudi Arabia goes to Europe.

I guess some economist thought the general public was to dumb to figure out that if Saudi Arabia cut the flow of oil to Europe, that Europe would then need oil from Mexico and Canada and thus raise the demand for the oil the US needs, so that myth was formed.

Really though, the boycott would need to be European based to have the most impact.

I'm starting to buy all my gas from Petro-Canada now. I drive a Saab and they say it's best to use higher octane fuels in them. The highest octane all the other gas stations sell is 91 and Petro-Canada is the only one I've seen that sells 94 octane. Plus you save a few cents per every litre you buy with them so I'm getting the extra octane rating and not really paying much more than you would be getting with the lowest one. Just the regular gasoline is 120.3 a litre right now. I put $10 in my Saab today and I got over 7 litres I think it was..

So a gallon here costs about $5.40 atm.

An American gallon is about $4.50.

Also love how you guys in the states are complaining about $4 per US gallon of gas..

I remember before you guys invaded Iraq we were paying 60 cents a litre..

it's like $3.30 where I live...

anyways the only reason we complain is that a year ago it was a dollar less... so like 33% increase over the course of a year, people would be mad anywhere with that sort of hike

i would like to know where you get this information from besides just converting your currency then multiplying the liter-> gallon ratio.

ya, 3.20 last i filled up.

although i love my car... 300+ miles on about 12-14 gallons (usually fill up when its at a 1/8 of a tank.)

usually costs me $30-35 to fill up so its not too bad thankfully.

california is the one paying up. i know there is one station thats paying $5+/gal for the simple fact that its the only one on a 50 mile stretch either way to the next one.

you can tell me to shut up, but you just dont like the truth in my statement.

edit: 87 octane is $1.209 per litre.. 91 octane is 1.309p/l ...

times that by 4 and were 4.84 per gallon for the cheap stuff...

Its only estimated to rise juring the summer time.. ( i immagine because were a tourist summer town, and the !@#$%^&*ers know they can just make a fortune),, after all , its al about the money

1 US gallon = 3.78541178 litres

Gas = 120.3 a litre.

120.3 * 3.78541178 = 454.73.

Canadian Dollar is at par with the American Dollar right now.

So rougly $4.50 CDN for an American gallon right now.

I just drive up to the native reserves and get my gas cheaper.

ah, i thought u were talking USD

They are at par so it's the same price.

lol, I don't think you two are on the same page.

Root was (most likely) thinking that you were stating Americans are paying $4.5 a gallon for gas, when that is simply not the case and he wanted to know where you got your information. It is really not clear what you meant from your statement:

So a gallon here costs about $5.40 atm.

An American gallon is about $4.50.

However, from your later post it seems like you were just trying to convert what you are paying in Canada to what an American would be familiar with.
