Unix Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 This is the normal complaint about actually having to use ammo, but when you refill your ammo your bounty goes back to ten. I understand that the initial purpose of ammo was two things, to slow down bntying and to stop weapon spam. But why make the bounty reset if you refill your ammo? That completely gets rid of bountying rather that slowing it down or anything even close. Not only that, but it was done in the middle of when a turret was in need to have ammo replenished. I for one dont like to make conspiracy theories, but the last two "major" changes, the bounty and the siege mounts, were both done in the middle of playing when Arnk was being owned. It might be a coincidence or whatever, however that's stupid. It just seems that whenever Arnk is being owned by something in the game, he feels the urge to nerf it or get rid of it. Dont get me wrong, I like some of the changes in the zone, and I like how some of the things that were overpowered were nerfed, but siege mounts and ammo refilling were two things that shouldn't of been touched in the beginning, yet alone in the middle of a game that's being played.

He took us through the ammo depot, and all 4 of us lost our bty. We were in the actually safety are for no more than 1 sec, and all of ours was reset. Got bounty? lost about 500, Mwarrior lost almost 300, rating still had 100 or so, i lost almost 200.. I don't think that buying ammo you should lose bty so fast. I understand it so ppl don't safe lame, and continue to bty, but we were in the actual safe less than 1 sec. I can understand the implementation of ammo to hinder bountyers, but to reset all bounty just because a player runs out of ammo is ridiculous. I really see no sensible reason why this was implemented. This not only effects 'vets' who like to have uber-high bounty, but every little noob out there who is just starting off, cant afford to buy 10 packs of ammo at a time, and tries to get an okay bounty. Now not only does he have to afford the ammo and outplay his opponents, but on top of it he has no choice except to lose his bounty very quickly. I really dont understand all the hate against bountyers from the dev team when the dev team put a system in place based on money. It is only natural to want to make as much money as possible, and bountying is the best way to do this. Just get rid of the more money per kill as your bounty rises, because effectively thats what this stupid ridiculous ammo cap is doing.

Please keep running the HS pop to the ground. I expect to see more staffers here to back up Arnk and this ridiculous change along the same explanation as rare made. Anyways Arnk A+ job!

Eclipse144 Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 No offense to any mods here including Arnk, but the bounty reset should really be removed, if bounty really was a problem then why did it stay this way for a long time? Everything that is overpowered always get nerfed pretty quickly and bounty has been around for a long time, Bounty system even became harder to use because of the update of ammo, killing only gives 5 bounty, and bounty reduction in a quick rate in safe. With this It is harder to get intense bounty then it was ever before but it has always been around so why change it now. Now a regular player can only reach around 75 to 100 bounty in which then gets reset by the ammo bounty reseter. Bountying is the main source of income to veterinarians who have been playing this game a long time and is smart enough to do something to gain a little extra money. Smart people tend to see this and usually they copy this and bounty on their own causing their own increase of money. Bountying is beneficial to everyone on the team of the player and is also gives more money to the person who is actually bountying. Even without the blockage involved, there are many ways to kill the person that has the bounty including fields and thors, The person who is bountying has to watch their heath and if they are not skilled enough they will die and lose it. The person smart enough to bounty should get extra money in which is gained by him. This is where one really smart person was able to think of an idea of a Turret which have been used many times. There are enough problems with trying to get high enough bounty to gain a good profit but with the ammo bounty reseter it is now impossible. It should be removed.

Eclipse, use paragraphs next time Look on the bright side guys, at least changes happen really fast even thought it may not be the best ones. Oppose to taking weeks and weeks of complaining, multiply topics made on the same issue.
Matrim Cauthon Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 (edited) if this change was made to stop turrets, it was a bad change, turrets dont need bounce so either they can just not use ammo, or use gauss cannon, this change hinders basing more as people can no longer bty to earn cash for their team, and this affects the rushers as they will be wasting more money to rush(where as the high bty can keep their spendings at par before) ----actually right now the only way to make money is turreting lol, since u cant base with no-bounce guns, turrets will give the most money Edited March 18, 2008 by Matrim Cauthon
