I am using KUbuntu Gusty and WINE .9.57.

When I follow the Quick Stars instructions and run Continuum.sh, I get this error message:

wine: failed to initialize: /usr/local/lib/wine/ntdll.dll.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have tried installing the windows continuum with Wine and I get the same effects as running it on windows with antivirus or some other program "Continuum Doesn't Like."

Any advice?

The second line of code gave me this error:

root@********:~# apt-get install build-essential flex bison xlibs-dev x11proto-gl-dev libgl1-mesa-dev fontconfig libfreetype6-dev fontforge checkinstall
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package xlibs-dev is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package xlibs-dev has no installation candidate

Also, I heard this method takes like 4GB of space. Is this true?

So candid.

We'll here's the solution.

1. Delete everything you have done

2. Download platform independent version 0.9.38 - http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wine/wine...mp;big_mirror=1

3. untar package to installation folder

4. open this up and save it as cont32.diff http://www.geocities.com/vivieka/cont32.txt

5. ensure cont32.diff is in the wine installation directory

6. use patch to modify the installation type in command-line cat cont32.diff | patch -p1

7. the script will return an equivalent to an "ok" response

8. check dependencies of the installation with ./configure

9. the configure script will return dependent packages needed prior to the installation

9a. if as you mentioned before one was in use or has one source directory, install a fresh version of the dependent package then ./configure again to check reliability

10. once the ./configure script returns a valid or "ok" response, ./make the installation

11. change to su or chroot access and type make install

tell me once this is done.

Gnome out.

So essentially what you are doing is not using the package from getcontinuum.com for Linux with the .sh extension.

This should be deleted and burnt.

1) This will require a fair amount of disk space

2) This is proven to have worked on solaris and suse distros

Why complicate things with an installer?

Delete everything that specifically mentions installing Continuum on Linux.
