Drugs in Drinking Water?

For all of you that are Americans, your gonna be thrilled to hear about this. Thought Im not saying other people wont be affected with similar problems.....

 

If your one of those people taking pharmaceutical drugs such as: antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones, your gonna be jumping for joy cause your getting free drugs from drinking water....

 

Why do I say this? Simple:

In the course of a five-month inquiry, the AP discovered that drugs have been detected in the drinking water supplies of 24 major metropolitan areas _ from Southern California to Northern New Jersey, from Detroit to Louisville, Ky.

Example of what they found:

Officials in Philadelphia said testing there discovered 56 pharmaceuticals or byproducts in treated drinking water, including medicines for pain, infection, high cholesterol, asthma, epilepsy, mental illness and heart problems. Sixty-three pharmaceuticals or byproducts were found in the city's watersheds.

 

Well...the !@#$%^&*istant administrator for water at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said "We recognize it is a growing concern and we're taking it very seriously". I guess we should be happy that we taking this o so very seriously.

 

For those who drink water from wells....they say your not clear of the problem. As for those who drink bottled water.....dont even think your safe...seeing how some of those companies just repackage tap water...

 

All in all, the drugs we have been taking for the p!@#$%^&* years and the waste we produce after taken the drug....guess what? Apparently....our sewage treatment and what not doesnt completely remove them.

well, if it took them that long to realise they were drugs in there, there probably is not even 1ppm of them... If your system can't handle that, then natural selection should take you out anyway

1) not everyone has access to it, and 2) ever heard of acid rain?

acid rain isn't much of a health concern to humans, though. unless you collect a highly concentrated jug of acid rain and drink it all down.

 

but the problem lies in recycling the water. some bad chemicals can be left behind as in this case.

I dont drink much water, and im sure the little trace of drugs they found isn't enough to effect me, interesting though.

The minerals disolved in water are required for you to absorb it correctly.

guess what, the toxins in the water end up in the air we breathe. If we stopped taking in these toxins cold turkey, we will die

 

it's funny that this is even a concern when this planet is losing oxygen and an alarming rate

 

lets not worry, our tweaked bodies enjoy the pollution, we'll survive for a long time, but we will get weaker and more depressed
