I need to find out what my uni's policy on "fair usage" is. If they let me put two or more machines on at once, and leave them on, I'll get a small box set up for some bots.

 

It's a bit of an "if" - but we can try

 

What happened to nurples hosting them anyway?

 

To update, this can't happen

 

Unfortunately the uni a) Won't allow me to connect more than one machine at a time (and they seem to have it quite watertight, need to play with the NAT sometime) and Specifically forbid me from hosting any sort of server/allowing any sort of incoming connection etc.... which I'm sure they'll interperet to include bots

Bots don't require incoming connections though

 

We used to have a similar policy here in uni residences (now they switched us to an actual ISP), incoming connections were blocked, but I could still use bots

actually if all goes well I will have a temporary wireless connection today

until I'm able to sort this legal issue preventing me from getting a tele line out...
