Steigerwald Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 (edited) So, heres the deal. I broke my laptop power charger and tried to order a new one from HP. I was told I would receive it on February 25th. On Feb 25th I found an email stating I would not receive the part till the 7th of March. I couldn't wait that long, need a laptop for school, so I told them to cancel my order and I would just order it on ebay and get it quicker and cheaper. The customer service rep told me I would receive a full refund. Well yesterday in my mail I found a brand new HP adapter, and my refund wasn't issued. Any things you would recommend? Edit: Oh yea, on top of that they sent it to the wrong address to begin with. Heh... Level 3 Support Now... Edited February 28, 2008 by Steigerwald
»Purge Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 call them back saying that the customer service rep stated you would receive a full refund?
Incomplete Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 I'm finding it hard to see the problem here... You was going to get a new one anyway wasnt you? Then what's the problem? Or did you already get the new one before recieving the one that HP sent? If you want a refund just say that you had already cancelled my order and you wish to have a refund on the HP adapter that they sent to you.
Dav Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 either:A: phone up and return it for a refundB: keep itC: letter of complaint describing the problem, say you want to keep it to save hastle but you was going to get it elsewhere till their mistake and ask for a partial refund.
rootbear75 Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 D: Tell them they suck, and make a website about it called HPSucks.com (modeled after earthlinksucks.com)

And a letter of complaint won't do anything either. Choose B and move on with life.
Shock Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 I had a similar problem with Xbox Live. They were supposed to cancel the account and refund the money they charged, but they didn't. I just called them back and they refunded it. Syrus is right, though. There's no way they will give you a refund unless you send back the charger which, might I add, would defeat the entire purpose. Am I missing your problem here?
Suicide_Run Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 If you received the power charger...I dont think theres a problem unless it doesnt work on your laptop.
Steigerwald Posted February 29, 2008 Author Report Posted February 29, 2008 I already had received another charger (quicker and cheaper from ebay). So why the !@#$%^&* did they send it to me in the first place when I canceled my order. And the other reason I'm a bit ticked off is because it took about 2 hours just for me to speak to someone to cancel my order (I spoke to about 10 different lvl1 techs and all they just asked for my name and phone number and verified my info, only to forward me to another department, got a bit old), and now I have to deal with their bull!@#$%^&* again, on my own time when it was suppose to be taken care of already.
Suicide_Run Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Call corporate steig....thats wat I learn from going to consumerist.com too much. If normal CSR cant help you and neither could people at manager level....call corporate lol.
Samapico Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 If you received your other charger from E-Bay already... then I guess you want your refund Call them back, tell them you asked for a refund and did not get it. If they tell you then sent the charger to you, tell them to !@#$%^&* off and come get it back cause you didn't want it.
Incomplete Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Or tell them you didn't recieve it.
Dav Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Or tell them you didn't recieve it.would be hard if the delivery is recorded
Cancer+ Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Here at Fedex, we have a bunch of problems with HP. We are supposed to have next day service if the PC is under warranty and they don't come for a couple of days or sometimes a week.
