I found this in my Continuum folder.

exception.log.

It was 2.72GB's. What is this, and why is it in my continuum folder. I asked someone else, they said they have the same thing, only that it's only a few KB. Of course, I already deleted this huge file. I think my computer might start working now.

I use a Windows 98, which has about 10 GB. This can't be only me.

I doubt that's an error log. 2GB in text of errors would be quite a bit of errors.

It probably just keeps track of a bunch of random stuff that the client does.

The exception log or text file is basically an exception handler, which generates the error, and additional data information (such as time, dll locations, program location, language, etc.). It should be perfectly safe to delete the file as Continuum is not dependant on it.

I can't really explain why your file is so huge, as mine is just 50kb. But then again, I'm running Vista. I can check later on my Windows 98; it's possible it's generated by some incompatability with the OS since the update to 0.40. Or maybe the error is being generated by a conflict with another program, or improper program termination.

Did you get the problem where the program jumps up and down on the task manager? That looks like something that could generate a !@#$%^&*load of exceptions...

An update on this issue: Seeing how I needed to get something on my old computer, I took the time to see if I had the same problem on Windows 98SE. An surely enough, my exception.log file was roughly 1.2GB - which really is a considerable amount. Anyhow, if anyone else is still running Windows 98, I'd advise checking your file as well.

Can you read any of what's in that exception log?

Seeing how it was Windows 98, and the file was 1.2gb, and 1% took about ~1 minute... I didn't feel like waiting. blum.gif

I'll see if I can create a new file and recreate some of the errors.
