AnacondA Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 Hola, I haven't been following SSdevelopments for years. !@#$%^&* i haven't played the whole game in quite some time. Anyhow, I was wondering if there is a new mapeditor that supports more then the original 256 colored Tilesets. I want to implement 24bits BMP tilesets if possible. If not i have to make LVZ's for all the walls im going to use. What brings me to question 2. Whats the best mapeditor to use for implementing LVZ pictures? Searching the forums I already noticed there where found some extra tiles, for example the anti-thor wall. SSME doesn't support this thought. CLE doesn't either. DMCE doesnt work on my comp... java problems or something.
»Purge Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 not sure about 24-bit, but I'm quite sure you can use 16-bit tilesets in other map editors (other than SSME). have you tried !@#$%^&*? it handles LVZ placing as you wanted, and I believe it can handle 16-bit tilesets. it is written in Java, however, so you may want to get those Java errors fixed.
Samapico Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 DCME doesn't work? Install the vb6 runtime files (it's not using java)http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb6...-us/vbrun60.exe And make sure you get the latest version of DCMEhttp://dcme.sscentral.com/?view=download If you still get errors or something, just report on the DCME forum and we'll help you out. DCME does support the 24bit tilesets As for LVZ's, CLT supports them. We're also implementing the feature on DCME... for now, if you have a little knowledge of how lvz files work, you can do pretty much whatever you want in DCME. You can draw with images on the map with tools (line, pencil...) if you use the latest beta release (3.1.16)
AnacondA Posted February 21, 2008 Author Report Posted February 21, 2008 Thx a bunch guys! Gonna try it out right away.
PoLiX Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Good, Good. You still runnin narchs? Hook a bro up w/ a squad, lol... How's !@#$%^&* in your world? And on the subject, I'd use DCME. I've given them a lot of support here as they've done more than anyone else. So guess favoritism you could say.
AnacondA Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 Im not running Narchs anymore, haven't been playing in like a year. Fed is leading it now, altough i don't know much about it. But you got my vote! !@#$%^&* is bussy in my world, just bought a house and with that comes alot of work. You still planning on visiting Amsterdam some time? I fired up DCME and i must say i love it. 24bits tilesets! Still figuring out the LVZ placing. But man it will safe me some time not having to calculate every x and y coord!
PoLiX Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Haha, true that. LVZ placing use to be such a !@#$%^&*. I'm thinkin bout it, like I said, I've always wanted to goto Europe, but my 1st trip is to Minnesota, hah. Never been east of the rockies (never had reason), just all up and down here on the US/Canada west coast, so that is step 1 to making it to Europe. Sweet on the house bro, very sweet. Been lookin myself, need to find one to buy, or atleast rent/lease, as having dogs in an apt sucks, always feel bad for them not having much room to run.
