11___________ Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 OK, so my last Continuum (latest) kept frezing my pc every time i attempted to play it. I uninstalled everything and now I reinstalled with a fresh installer from getcontinuum. It still freezes my pc with Continuum.exe and csrss.exe. My system says both are a "critical system process" and "cannot be removed". I have no clue what to do, but Continuum randomly started doing this a month ago, thus I stopped playing. Nothing has been changed on my pc. I keep all AV up to date.
Shock Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 csrss.exe is the main executable for the Microsoft Client/Server Runtime Server Subsystem. This process manages most graphical commands in Windows. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated. What screen is it "freezing" on?

11___________ Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Posted February 20, 2008 (edited) It is slowing my pc considerably most of the time so that it would take 10 seconds for task manager to open up. Its slowing my entire screen. I have too much stuff for a system restore to go back. Edited February 20, 2008 by 11___________
Shock Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 What screen is it "freezing" on?Does it jump around on the processes menu? When that happens, it uses up 100% CPU and makes your computer slow, like you mentioned. Read here: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=13180
11___________ Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Posted February 20, 2008 Shock, pretty much like you just said. The thing was, I didn't install\do anything major lately. It just happened without me doing anything.
rootbear75 Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 (edited) Viruses ftw you got any siblings or other people that use the computer... (or animals for that matter) Edited February 20, 2008 by rootbear75
Shock Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 Just System Restore back to a date when it worked.
11___________ Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Posted February 20, 2008 I am pretty sure no wandering pets know how to use my pc. I am almost sure I have no viruses. System restore would cause more damage than it would help.
Shock Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 What all have you installed in the past month?
X`terrania Posted February 21, 2008 Report Posted February 21, 2008 try shutting down all anti-virus programs/spyware programs, and then do it
Samapico Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Yeah... please tell us exactly what fixed the problem... A lot of other people have similar problems, it's good to have several possible solutions on hand.
