Guest Midget186 Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Situation: Your flying around doing your normal thing. All of a sudden someone attaches to you wanting to be a turret. You however do not feel like being a pilot for a turret. You ask that they please remove themselves from your ship for you do not want to 'turret'. They, however, don't listen. Suggested solution: Provide an option somewhere in the game, internal or external, where you can select wether ships that attach are allowed to stay on, or are detached immediately. What does everybody think? Is it even possible?
Dr Brain Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Press F7 when a turret is on you. Problem solved.
Yupa Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Press F7 when a turret is on you. Problem solved. of course someone that doesn't understand (or is being a penis) can just attach again and again and if you happen to be carrying the soccer ball, F7 is completely disabled (not just attaching to someone, the entire key) I think some attaching options would be nice
Guest V'rix Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 A good idea is for it to ask you if you accept for them to attach to you. or to be able to remove your ability to be attached and add it when you want.
madhaha Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 A simple toggle via the menu (something like Esc + T) would work the best. Asking on a case by case basis would slow gameplay down and you'd have to keep reviewing who wanted to attach.
Dav Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 best thing to do its fly a levi, go to a wall and teamkill the turret they may get the point that way.
Trained Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 It kinda weird cause this situation akai mentioned just happened to him the other day in Abyss ^_^ But, yea, or if the person kept listening, you could simply ignore the players attach. Just like it ignores the player talk when ?ignore=Name. So it would be cool to have like ?tignore=name to not let them attach and maybe a little message to the player trying to attach: This player has ignored your request to attach.
Dav Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 that sounds like a solution because you may want to umignore them for attacking nme. its only n00bs that do the continued attach thing anyway.
Himura Kenshin Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 yeah it gets very gay when u have some 1 constantly attaching that wont get off.
Trained Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Or, if you wanna get mean, just go by an enemy set of mines, if they wont get off, launch them into the mines ^_^
RocketGib Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Why not have a "summon" command? That way the "turret base" could get teammates faster.
Intention Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 make the more popular ships in the zone unattachable
Dav Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 make the more popular ships in the zone unattachablecould ruin flagging tho
madhaha Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I think my toggle idea would be somewhat faster than typing ?tignore all the time but it would stop ALL people attaching. Perhaps both systems could co-exist so you could nominate quickly not to be annoyed and also block out specific individuals. This suggests we could also do with a more permanent list like ignore.txt of all the people you NEVER want to attach to you...
mister manners Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 ?tignore mister.manners press enterkey?tignore akai then they son't turret you, and there'll be a little red "x" next to their name
