o()o Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Ok ok. So like, I listen to music whens i play contiuum right, and would like the make the sounds even quieter than 1, cuz its still pretty loud. So i thought to meself, i haz two options. find a way to boost the volume over the max setting in WMP, or i could find i way to reduce the volumes in contiuum. I figured the latter would makez more sense cuz i want the system sounds of other apps to me normal sounding as wells. So then I thought. How ams i gonna make the sounds belows 1 in contiuum? Well i first tried the obvious and tried doinn sound=0.5 to set it to 50% of 1, but that didn't work. so i thought sum moar and was like, I know! I'll just edit all the sound files to 50% their original volume! so i went to the folder right, and was like O___O, cuz there are a looot of sound files, and I don't wanna waste like a whole day editing each one. SOooooo. I come to u guys, so find a quick way to do a m!@#$%^&* volume eddit of all the files. OR, maybe give me a link to a pre-edited bunch of the original songs. Sooo any ideaz guys? Maybe there is an easy solution i'm just missing here.
PoLiX Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 mm, sadly not. ?sound=1 and ?music=1 is as quiet as you can get it...
Shock Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Yeah, same problem here. It's either REALLY loud, or you can't hear it at all.
Cancer+ Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 You could make it ?sound=0. But that will kill your sound altogether. Other than that, you have to waste your whole day editing.
Samapico Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Continuum's volume control does really suck. However, you might want to try to ?sound=2, then ?sound=1 again. When I start, the volume of a couple of things are set to maximum, whatever the current ?sound level is... For example, wall bumping sounds will be super loud, while mine-laying sound will be at 1. So I just set the sound again. Don't know if this happens to other people too... But it happened on the 2 comps I played on, so it probably is a common bug.
JoWie Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 (edited) Besides that, I have noticed that sounds sometimes leak through ?sound=0 Which is ofcourse the same bug Edited February 5, 2008 by JoWie
Shock Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Yeah, JoWie. pointdefense in HS does the same thing to me.. and it's extremely loud.
o()o Posted February 6, 2008 Author Report Posted February 6, 2008 ok guys. I hab succeededs. I found this:http://www.freewaregenius.com/2008/01/07/m...nge-of-formats/ That program allows u to select a bunch of files and change the volume of all them at once. So what I did was convert the files to wav using Extention changer 0.5. I then lowered the volume by 10db use the above program. Then I converted it bak to wa2 and put it in the right folder. and VIOLA. Its quiet now! If anyone wants the finished stuff, I could post it, i suppose, though its pretty easy to do it urself. =) Fanks for help guys
Shock Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Hah, that's a pretty good idea. Good job, man. Can you upload a .zip of the finished product, please?
JoWie Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 You dont have to use the wa2 extension, wav works to
o()o Posted February 7, 2008 Author Report Posted February 7, 2008 K i attached it. meh I put it in wa2 format anyway lol.
Shock Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 wa2 and bm2 are extensions for .wav and .bmp, so it doesn't matter. Thanks, btw.
»Purge Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 I'm pretty sure you could have had a much easier sound editing experience if you used Audacity.
o()o Posted February 7, 2008 Author Report Posted February 7, 2008 I have Audacity, but I didn't know if was possible to edit like a bunch of files at once.
Shock Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Well, there's a db changer on the side, so you could do it rather quickly.
Samapico Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Cool... this will probably find its way to SubspaceDownloads.com
Shock Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 (edited) Nevermind. Edited February 12, 2008 by Shock
