I'd say it would probably be a lot better using something funny rather than something graphical, considering that it would be a !@#$%^&* of a lot harder to come up with a truely stunning t-shirt by wacking a picture on the front. I like the poster you've used, by keyword: Poster. - That's all it should be used for. I'd say you'd probably attract more people by plain text - saying KILL NEWBS - getcontinuum.com or something, I don't think anybody is going to stop at stare at your t-shirt to admire the screenshots, unless they know you.. but KILL NEWBS, that's preety easy to read when you p!@#$%^&* somebody by...

You think anyone is gonna pay $16-$30 for a shirt that says Kill Newbs?

If you want to make some kind of merchandise, I would start with a design concept, then by 1000 t-!@#$%^&*rs and take them to a company that provides that type of service.

If you don't have money for 1000 shirts, then maybe you can try a fund raiser or ask some players for help.

It wasn't the message "Kill Newbs" that I was trying to portray. I am trying to say that it will be a lot more effective selling a shirt which says "Kill Newbs" on the front with getcontinuum.com advertised on it - than selling a shirt with a poster picture on the front. People are a lot more likely to look at the "Kill Newbs" message and see the getcontinuum.com URL on the shirt - than if they saw a couple tiny screenshots of in-game action and a picture of space with a spaceship - and gather that it must be a game worth downloading..

Rofl, I'd buy a shirt that said "Kill Newbs" on it.

Also, a shirt with screenshots would look RE!@#$%^&*ED. I'd be curious as to what it was if I saw a shirt that said "Kill Newbs" on it and had a link. I would definitely go to it.

The classic:

"Meet people from all over the world..."

"Then kill them!"

would work too, maybe with a small ship graphic somewhere

Also, if it's just white text, I suppose the t-shirt will cost less?

I think that the ship graphic doesn't work. Look at other - even very cheap t-shirts. They often have much better graphics on them, I think we'd be a lot better off portraying a message to the audience which we require - in order to do so we need to publish quite nerdy messages - let's face it - the majority of the people who play this game are in fact nerds, no matter how much you like to think you're not one.. You are.. Acceptance is the first stage.. blum.gif

So why not state a message which a nerd is obviously going to read, and probably research... I've seen loads of them kinda t-shirts that say short messages with a web URL on the back around London. I'm sure something like that will work, and if somebody (rootbear) does his research he can probably find a cheap manufacturer.

cafepress only allows pix... i gotta find another site that will do text for cheaper

if you want to make your own t-shirt with text,

just use www.spreadshirt.com or google "text t-shirt" or something

Well, I never really liked Cafepress, but for X-Mas I used Zazzler.com to make my friends a shirt. They met on continuum and she moved down here and now they're together, so for X-mas I got them a shirt with warbirds on the front, and theyre SS Alias's on the front. On the back of his I put a < and on the back of hers I put a 3, so when they stand next to each other it shows <3. Heres the SSCENTRAL shirt I made.

Kind of lame, but something that took like 30 seconds (minus the screenshot cutting and pasting to get the product image, it dosn't let you save images in product view > ;) )

doesn't the Hitman game series also use that slogan? I remember Hitman 2 using it.

then again, I guess SubSpace was the first. blum.gif

Well, if anything, it's the color that would make it cost more, not whether it is a pic or simple text...

Just a theory, anyway.

It's SS's 'official' (retail) slogan and hitman came LONG after.
