PoLiX Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 http://digg.com/tech_news/Dreamhost_mistak..._multiple_years As some of you may remember, this was the host Maverick and few others we're constantly recommending. I finally did it for their big 10yr deal, and well, I haven't seen the charges on my card (YET atleast), I got hit too. It is funny how much some people are overreacting to this though. I can understand wanting some things refunded, but they are going as far as wanting to hurt the company, but expecting free !@#$%^&*, which will again hurt them more. I dunno, I guess that's why I keep my $4500 cc down around $300, so I never have to worry about autobilling from any site hurting me. Incomplete Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Sounds like a major !@#$%^&* up, I can understand why people are so angry.
»1587200 Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I got the email as well, but no apology...at least I can take comfort in the fact that any credit card they have no longer exists now.
CRe Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Yes. I got the email also but no apology either.
Drake7707 Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 lol that apology doesn't sound so professional, being it so informal
Suicide_Run Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 I think i saw something about this a hr ago. Think I saw they were apologizing on their blog page or something.
Dav Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 The whole informal things seems quite the rage on the internet at the moment. I guess they think it makes things seems a little more personal or it is an attempt to tap into nerd humour. Still at least they sorted it, sometimes companies deny everything and give you a pain in the !@#$%^&* system to get a refund.
