I'd like to thank the following people for their contribution to the map: 1. Sharpflame - built many bases (we chose three), designed the new center safe and the junk around the center.2. Aquarius - built the base tags.3. Charmed3 - built base located in sector 14. Burglary - built base located in sector 45. Legas & Stray - they don't play here but they contributed a base located in sector 3 via Aquarius6. Jowie - built the base located in sector 6. Actually Jowie updated it after my request but I did not put that version in. Thanks for your hard work Jowie.7. Sinn, Creamy the Cow, enigma, and others who were involved in the testing. Thanks! Linear-Key Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 A few small details things I noticed: -There's a little glitch or something in the left wall of the left HT. Everybody probably already noticed this. -With the new ID tunnel, it no longer warps you to the center of the tunnel. While flying through it, the wormholes' gravity now causes your ship to rock up and down slightly. This probably isn't that important though. -You used to be able to shoot into the center safe by perfectly staying on the blue line in front of safezone, to force a flagger in safe to drop their flags. This is no longer possible, as the weapon-stopping tiles are now touching the safezone directly. Similar case with the 4 shops. This also, probably isn't important, since there are other ways to force the flagger to drop flags. Quote

11___________ Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Overall, the bases are great should be a great success. The safe looks professionally done and is great for first-impressions. Center is decent, and we still have a shrine to worship the Gods. Bases: Often too simplistic at times. I feel like its just tetris and not a deadly spacestation or lava tube or whatever. I apply this to a few parts on most bases (bl excluded). The themes\colors are redundant. OK, i know there is more than gray, blue, red and combining them to create colors. Maybe some greens, yellows, or browns. The colors can be mixed and a base could be red combining to blackish green. Safe zones are great for bases, but the bases with them are rarely used due to the enemy withdrawing a lanc only when the bl is broken. A safe at every base or no base could create a more fair experience. "Base" 8 is still pretty useless. I recommend putting .?duel in it with a bot. Move the buy zone, add stands for the players in a safe zone with everything thor\bomb\bulletproof.Center: The new safe zone looks fantastic. There is plenty of new geometric shapes for 1v1 to 3v3 dueling, but in reality its flooded. The constant repeating shapes can't be everywhere. The center base was extremely popular with bountiers\flaggers\screwing around alike. I think it deserves an expansion to 1\4 base or 1\3. my views are subject to change, hatred, biasness, and sexiness. Quote

I always thought the main use of sector 8 ("Base" was just to have a nice, distant place away from center to put the TW Hub and Scrap & Salvage. You wouldn't want the TW Hub or especially Scrap & Salvage in a sector with an actual base, that would make those bases rather weaker. Quote

However, there is a small thing that's bugging me about the center... The lanc needs to be moved one tile to the right....and the levi and weasel should be swapped....and then the weasel will need to be moved one tile to the left....and the levi one tile to the right...and then it'll all be perfectly centered, and I'll be happy. Pity. Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Just my opinion. Cause bases are made my different players, you can tell right away which base is more overpowered than others, anyways generally, I just think the bases are too long and thor-proof flag rooms reduces the challenge Quote

Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 The other day the flags got stuck in a section in base three, if I remember maybe near P17 these vertical thin bars and someone dropped these batch of flags there that were impossible to retrieve. Maybe make the gaps big enough for a shark to get in, or block the flags from goin there. I like the bases especially 1, 7, & 5 at the mo. Quote
