Type Rotation

Hey, so after the PowerBall topic I made, a lot of people wanted the powerball back/missed it. Then people suggested we have defender (when a flag can't move, you hover over it and it becomes your teamcolor) instead of CTF.

 

I came to the simple idea of rotating every month or so. Maybe 4 rotates every reset? It could start slow, like defender. Then CTF. Then something else, and then when everybody is rich, PowerBall to let even noobs get rich faster.

 

Defender: Hold the base flag (maybe make one gigantic base maze and at the end the flag?) and you make $500 per minute (30k an hour) while defending it.

CTF: Drop all 20 flags for 5 seconds to win the jackpot, or base with them. This is a little quicker than holding the flag (defender) since more people are attacking, and in a full game the JP raises fast.

Something Else: Ideas?

PowerBall: The final thing. This as we all know, makes quick cash from up to 100-200k an hour for the team providing your team has full control over the net. In a full game one goal can give you and your team 10k. This could be lowered to even 2k and it would still be more fun, and dominate all the other types.

First of all resets aren't on fixed schedules. Also, this alienates players who don't like whatever mode we would be on for an entire month.

perhaps balling could be in another arena WITHOUT needing mods to host it (unlike hyperball) >_<

Distort, I see your point, but it works backwards too. Personally I hate the entire flag game. The fact there are so many of them, the fact one person can win it, etc etc. I play anyways. We could also make the reset a fixed thing. Course that would devastate newer players when its 1 week before reset

 

Also, I would consider maybe something below jrmod but not just some person, as a rank, to host events. Say powerball would be an arena, where its 2 forced freqs and when one gets a goal its a sum of cash for the team and double for the player or etc etc.

 

Another idea is like sunday night game night where its powerball or defender in a subarena for all to play in... just that day.

Personally I would keep normal flagging.

 

However, the rotation idea could be made by using swappable game menu. After each game, players can vote what the next game is. I don't think this would fit in the public arena though.

My main point was to make it part of the normal arena so that it would have a bit of ... motion to it and all. Most people don't even play in sub arenas for too long before swapping back.

base 8 is pretty much useless. Many flag\ball game types could be posted there. Resets are when everyone starts getting good ships. I don't care about what gets imputed. Just as long as everyone enjoys it and there is decent money involved.
