Aceflyer Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 There is a very small difference between mod and jrmod. Small but still significant. Quote
11___________ Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Sharpflame has been in the zone for a lot longer than most of the players. He has hosted trivias and many events. I see him as one of the most (if not most) active jrmods out there. He deals with everything as best as he can and can make a dead zone feel alive. I was not payed by anyone to say anything. Quote
James1293 Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 i say promote mas to mod no opinion about sf, bold, and rare. P.S. so... does this mean some new jr mods will be picked? Quote
aquarius Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 this is what jrmods don't have but mods do setmoney (set money status) ?grant can achieve thissetexp (set exp) nobody needs to be giving expgran!@#$%^&*em (grant an item) nobody needs to be giving itemsreset (reset a player account) nobody needs to be reset =Pexplode (explode a player) nobody needs to be blown up, i can handle that Quote
rootbear75 Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 (edited) im not looking at the commands.. its more the position itselflike if you got promoted from cashier to lead cashier, the changes in responsibilities are very very minor, yet the jump in paycheck, and the feeling of knowing you did something well enough to get promoted, and the happy feeling that your boss(es) noticed you... dont know if that applies lol... just popped into my head and cant mods ban people longer than jrmods? Edited January 4, 2008 by rootbear75 Quote
Sharpflame Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Yeah, I believe that in HS, a "mod" gets Lvl 3 BanG, I could very easily be wrong though. And like you said root, I'd enjoy the !@#$%^&*le "mod" more than "jrmod' anyday. Quote
Aceflyer Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 this is what jrmods don't have but mods do setmoney (set money status) ?grant can achieve thissetexp (set exp) nobody needs to be giving exp Also, ?grantexp can achieve what setexp can. I'll agree these two are minor additions. gran!@#$%^&*em (grant an item) nobody needs to be giving items Why not? Swift Warrior once did a very interesting trivia event during a flagging game where the award was one Cobalt Warhead. That's an item. reset (reset a player account) nobody needs to be reset =P Still a significant power. The fact that it doesn't need to be used often is good, not bad. Ex: D1st0rt rarely needs to arrange a rollback, but would you call that power a minor/insignificant power? explode (explode a player) nobody needs to be blown up, i can handle that Yea that's just for fun. I totally agree. He doesn't throw a fit when something goes wrong (psst rare!) and yes... he throws trivias and stuff. this is what jrmods don't have but mods do setmoney (set money status) ?grant can achieve thissetexp (set exp) nobody needs to be giving expgran!@#$%^&*em (grant an item) nobody needs to be giving itemsreset (reset a player account) nobody needs to be reset =Pexplode (explode a player) nobody needs to be blown up, i can handle that LMAO at expload. But jr mods can't grant cash? Nor items? WTF? Anyways I don't care if they get promoted or not. Maybe we could promote ONE, and we give them one month to prove to be the best mod. When that month is over we have a vote, and winner gets promoted. Just an idea. Quote
Aceflyer Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 I totally agree. He doesn't throw a fit when something goes wrong (psst rare!) and yes... he throws trivias and stuff. I've never seen Rareitanium "throw a fit when something goes wrong." And I don't think jrmods are required to host trivia as one of their responsibilities... although I could be wrong about this. LMAO at expload. But jr mods can't grant cash? Nor items? WTF? jrmods can grant money. They can prize powerups (such as bounty, rockets, portals, etc.) They cannot grant actual items (such as cobalt warheads, reactors, fields, etc.) Quote

I never really see rare doing anything like that... correct me if i am wrong. And the throwing a fit is my way to express all the degrants hes done to me lol. Aceflyer Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 (edited) This isn't not a democracy either... Think of it as some variant of the so-called "sovereign democracy," Hyperspace style. It's nice when a mod does something on a boring evening or morning of gametime. I never really see rare doing anything like that... correct me if i am wrong. And the throwing a fit is my way to express all the degrants hes done to me lol. You probably got it the wrong way... its cool lol Rareitanium just tends to have a more serious personality and approach. But he is completely fair; in fact, his system for deciding how to enforce rules comprises one of the most precise and objective set of standards I've seen any jrmod use. I'm glad everything is cool. Now I understand that... thanks for clearing me up. You're welcome. Edited January 6, 2008 by Aceflyer Quote
