»Blocks Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 My default browser is Firefox, but when I click on links in the Continuum chat window, they open in Internet Explorer. What gives? I'm running Windows Vista Business Edition x86 and Continuum 0.40.
Shock Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 Found this on Yahoo Answers.. Not gonna be any help, but you're not alone. http://nz.answers.yahoo.com/question/index...15212934AA81971
»LtNirvana Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 Im willing to be it says firefox is your defualt browser, but IE is still in use under !@#$%^&*ociations. I dont know about vista just XP but look for an !@#$%^&*ociations area in control panel maybe its gotta be somewhere around there. Change anything IE related to firefox. Also is might be a registry entry !@#$%^&*ociated links with IE. If your computer savvy, run regedit and do a find for ie and look for anything about !@#$%^&*ociations etc, maybe open with or whatever.
Shock Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 Vista has a control panel for default programs and he told me he's already been there and made sure everything was set to Firefox.
rootbear75 Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 ive just learned to copy/paste... that, or when i think they are malicious in any way (cause most of the links somehow are....)i let it open in IE, so i dont have to worry about closing the 10+ tabs i have open
Shock Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 Blocks, I sure hope you can find some help. I'm very saddened by your problem.
Hakaku Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 Try: Internet options > advanced > browsing > reuse windows for launching shortcuts (disable this)And set FF to check if it's the default webbrowser. Then, anything Internet Explorer is set to open, force FF to open them and !@#$%^&*ociation them (Control panel > Programs > Default Programs > Set !@#$%^&*ociations). And finally, got into Set Default programs (Control panel > Programs > Default Programs > Set Default Programs) and choose "set program as default" for Firefox.
»Blocks Posted December 26, 2007 Author Report Posted December 26, 2007 Thanks for the help everybody, but nothing has worked. I even set the .url extension to open in Firefox, but no dice. Maybe someone with intimate knowledge of the chat window (like Mr. Ekted) would know.
