Resol Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 I am looking to bring back the zone Armada !@#$%^&*ail. It ran for aprox. 5 years and did very well. The last host was SSDC which I have no idea what happened to, but the site its for sale now and I can't get in contact with any of the site admins at ssdc.xtremegaming.net The zone is very well put togeather and I know a lot of you played it. So is there any host available now? I know its not likely to happen, but SSC is very much needed. I had SSC multiple times, but because of so many server changes it was hard to maintain. So if there is anyone that can host a zone that will get a steady population and handle it without lag, please let me know.

BJ's wife got pregnant, and real life kicked in.

So if you got a zone with 30+ pop, I would have to get a dedicated host in order for me to even try to get SSC. Right now, Freak or Confess might be a better pick if you are looking for quick SSC.

(maps, settings, bots, etc). 2)Contact a host that has access to the SSC Biller (Confess, Death+ or myself) 3)Get them to host your zone (without SSC Biller though) 4)Get your zone STABLE & 30+ pop on a regular basis 5)Have your host contact the Council and have them review your zone and approve/deny it SSC Biller Access. Thats about all the information I can give you atm. You said you had SSC multiple times? With that zone? Who hosted you in the past that had SSC?

Freak is probably your best bet at the moment

Its all put togeather besides some a few lvz that I am changing up. I have all bot files/plugins as well. Altec . was the best host I could ever ask for. So here is the way it went. Zone Started on SSWC The Void, after 6 months or so I took my small zone to the next step and thought that "void" meaning empty might not be a good zone name lol. So I redid the whole thing and changed the name, after a year populations started reaching 10-15 for about 8 hours a day. Got SSCW ran there for maybe another 8 months and I was getting a lot of players by this time. Altec .'s server webt down and had changes made or seomthing so zone went down, Altec . started hosting again with SSNE, when I saw this I got my zone back up and immediatly players game back and I was getting 20 players all the time and peak if 40+ even without SSC. Its hard to recal but I think Altec . had another server problem, but I remember zone went down for a while when it returned it lost its SSC. Death+ got a hold of me and wanted to host it on SSI and eventutally it went to SSCI (2-3 years ago). Zone was doing great for while, I stopped playing and was busy with real life, Come on one day on the zone was gone, not sure what exactly happened. It was on a few other servers, but most of them where altec .'s. I talked to Confess+ before this topic, he is doing server changes..this and that. Can't get hosted their. Death+ used to be a good bud, can't get ahold of him at all, So I hope you can host me.

And you never know, maybe more people will start playing again. Its just too bad they never get off their WOW account.

That will never happen, ever. It would require dedicated resources, mostly a company like EA or VIE to pick up the game again and redo the whole thing, not gonna happen. New players isn't going to happen in an amount substantial enough to save the game either, but it won't die for a very long time. I've said this before and it's probably true that SS won't die until the people playing now actually physically die lol. The vets will keep playing and new players will come and go because this is not a new player friendly environment at all. This makes new zones basically impossible, even zones that used to be popular to come back from the ground are impossible, look at GW. I think if SS is going to go anywhere but down the tubes, developers need to stop working on a bunch of mediocre new zones and use their abilities to improve or revitalize existing zones with existing population. IE: TJ and myself are working on a new version of DS that brings the settings and gameplay back to when the zone was rivaling MG's popularity, and adding new aesthetic flares. Is this going to work? Who knows. SS has changed alot and I don't know if theres any way of revitalizing a zone but I figure it's worth a shot. Not even zones like TW or EG have the pop they had not even 2 years ago. I've been gone for about that long and I don't know what happend to make it this way, but I see zones that were once huge die, like SWR is dead, RS is fading, infantry zones with the exception of MG are struggling where they once had a much stronger niche, even DSB is fading out a bit. Im tired of typing.
