Cancer+ Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 Wayne Huizenga may sell his Miami Dolphins. What, a couple of bad years, maybe the 1 worst in history and he wants to give up? This used to be a really good ball club. Any Miami Dolphins fans out there? What do you think?
Shock Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 Go Steelers! They made a huge mistake trading Chambers when they did. The only thing they need is a QB and maybe a secondary... That's a lot less than most teams. When you lose your starting running back who, might I add, was #1 in the league in rushing yards when he went down, and your #1 receiver.. You have some problems. They'll likely suck next year, but the year after, they should be able to win at least... 4 games?

Cuz you can't expect to profit by running a team if you don't know a lot about the sport.
»freakmonger Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Few owners get personally invovled with the teams that they own. That is what they have General Managers for. To run the day to day operations. Most of the time when the owner gets involved it ends up hurting the team.

No money = for sale.this isnt always true. mark cuban is the mavericks owner. i'm sure he enjoys making a profit from his investment but he's a basketball fanatic and already has !@#$%^&*tons of money. he's there at every single game. jerry jones is pretty much the same way. and yeah that cowboys loss on sunday was !@#$%^&*e. He's also looking to buy the Sonics (basketball) to keep them in seattle, and he'd own them and Portland's team. He's involved, and a great guy, he's spoken at my school before, and loves being involved in the community around here. So really, it all depends on the owner. Most owners, as he said buy teams for profit. Others, who have been highly involved in the community already (Microsoft and other small ventures of Paul's in the Seattle area), and buy teams, do it for the community, or from the love of sports. So really, it just depends on who you've got in your area on wheter you can have a team and have it last.

I actually heard that he bought them FOR the community but didn't care much for football in general, but came to love it.
