Problem with the SSRPG

Dav seems to have quite a lot of soldiers for this early in the game. My theory is he is using proxies to click his clicker to get extra soldiers. Even if he isn't, someone could do this so I think it is best to remove the clicker system. You can also exploit this system if you have an ISP that gives you a new IP address everyone time you reconnect (I have one and it works.)

actually what i have done is have as many clan members as i can add me as their officers. I click my own and theirs each day gaining 200 from their clicks. Im also gaining from any other clicks they get which is goving me a nice boost.

 

I will have 2 IPs in the log, home and work. I tend to do one on alternating days (ie home on day 1, work on day 2, home day3...).

I used to sploit the !@#$%^&* out of it last round and use many systems at work as well as home but stopped this activity when ail posted to state this was illigal.

 

Only way proxies have affected me is if one of my officers has been using proxies (which i have requested they dont). If they have been then ill take some sort of a penalty to re-level the field.

 

Please bare in mind that i have upgraded my UP as well.

Hmmm...now that I think about it a more appropriate one would've been: Why hasn't attack been turned on? I was supposed to do that last night. It will occur at 9:00 Tonight.

 

(Now before you all go around calling me lazy, the V RPG now has the final blank inventory screen, and the bots have been named and given images, though they are the same bots settings wise...count on the finished High Twop being atlesat lvl20. And for those who didn't read the setting post, yes Trench Wars is going to be the bad guys.)

 

Back to the topic, Dav's click logs are legit. There are a couple of other suspicious characters in there, but nothing of the "this person is definitely cheating" variety, and certainly nothing of the "this person's cheating is going to dominate the game".

 

Remember that keeping commander in mind will double the click output, and that upgrading your UP gets you the equivolent of a click every four hours.

 

BTW Dav, is that sig a StarGate reference?

Static you got to love the Transfer units one, i am going spy/sentry so at the moment alot of units is kinda useless for me so sometimes i send dav my units.

Dav's tactic of getting a lot of clicks in the beginning has, I believe, had a much larger impact than anyone thinks. I don't think he's doing anything illegal, I just think he has a very good tactic, which is why I tried to get a lot of clicks early in the game as well. I didn't succeed on the scale of Dav, but I'll be interested to see what that extra few thousand troops in the first few days equates to in the last few weeks.

It's funny that one person getting thousands of extra units gets explained away but that same person then tries to accuse someone else of cheating. Double standards? All the same explanations that apply to Dav can apply to any other player.

 

I think with a game like this cheating is going to happen but the good thing with this type of game is that it doesn't matter too much. The only way for someone to cheat and harm the game is to waste hours clicking their own link and if they've put that much effort into it then it's not really "cheating" (quick exploit for big gain) as they have done something that took a long time within the game.

 

I'm also sure most of us are giving the link out to every one to click and each of those will count as a click as well giving the player an extra 100 units.

 

 

 

This aside, it'd be great to see the game expand so there is more to do than just click your own/friends link once a day and train some units.

Let us not forget IRC. If you are a netadmin on an IRC network people will happily click your links for games like this and of course if you're a chanop or just regular people will help you out with a simple click and a code.

 

Now it would be good if some of those people chose to join in with the game as well but we can't have everything can we.

Not to mention I now got up to 100 UP, so unless he has too the gap could increase further.
