C'mon... anyone else realize that a 'clever' adversary could log in from a 2nd or 3rd computer, set up duplicate accounts and then transfer everything over to one player giving them a VERY unfair advantage? I dunno, but I believe this to be a bad idea....

Player B and Player C gives all their money, troops and attack turns to Player A... yeah, this sounds real fair.

Usually any lame tactic that can be done by transfer can also be done by attacking.

Generally, there are probably a dozen ways of cheating anyway, at least transfers are given a log which is relatively easy to sort through.

this service transfer thing is awesome for legit clan members, like for example, the main spy in your clan uses no turns, gives them all to the main attacker, main attacker hits for huge masses of money, then transfers to the highest/second highest or even runner up ranking clan members so that they can earn more tallies for the clan.

but, the obvious con to this thing is for non legit players like JDS. people like him can m!@#$%^&* abuse bugs/glitches and now services and get away with it, although its easy to moniter, cheaters can easily make themselves seem legit, OBVIOUSLY if someones going to dual computer this stuff, they change ips, perhaps even make a new ss name and get known in popular zones under that name then goto ssforum, pretend to be good friends with computer a, then just transfer turns/soldiers/money at the same time, its pretty neat to keep the final days of the round intense, when redwaller used to play, the end days were so intense:P you knew he had something coming, but anyways, good job i guess ail on adding it, making it more compe!@#$%^&*ive n what not, plus i love how you changed the currency to greens:P PRO

I actually agree with Smarties for once.

Another thing that is very good about transfer services is the fact that now since the Oldskool ships won't be introduced, a player is not stuck with one ship. If a player picks a ship, realizes that he does not like the style of play that would be required to use it, he can send his items, troops, and money to another alliance mate, pick a new ship, and get the items, troops, etc. back and try again.

Lollerskates has actually already done this with one member who decided that he wanted to be a Terrier when attacks opened, and it worked quite well. The only downside is that you can't transfer spies or sentries, but that's often only a major factor if you're re-rolling to/from a ship that is covert oriented, like the spider. (And maybe the Shark or Weasel to an extent.)

And, as I think Aileron pointed out, or I know someone did, this is a great thing for new players who join late. Instead of getting a ship with massive bonuses, they can just receive troops and items from the clan they join so they can start contributing immediately.

i just came here to say exactly what falcoknight has already said for me, as !@#$%^&*onearth sent me a welcoming 500 soldiers to boost my income slightly, and just realized, if say a person like dav, who always has the highest ammount of soldiers regardless if hes using mercs or not, someone could send say 100k soldiers to oldschool warbirds or whatever ship is in the final stretch, and that ship already has m!@#$%^&* income and discount bonuses, so you could get rank 1 easily, i think if this transfer services is going to work, you need to set down some ground rules like no sending anything to people who have already picked a race, dunno you figure it out:P

The solution was already stated: Oldskool ships aren't showing up this round.

Unfortunately, this is a need because rasta and Whal already developed a transfer technique last round. I suspect that by the second month of this round that technique would have been perfected. Thus, the Oldskool ships had to go.

With it, the primary motivation for keeping transfer out was rendered impossible: It will always be possible for a quitting member to transfer atleast all of his points out.
