PoLiX Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 So I was able to get my hd running again enough to transfer !@#$%^&*. I haven't gotten it loading/working right again since. It lost my profile for windows, and I can't seem to get another one working, don't have the "privileges" and !@#$%^&*. Luckily got the g/f's laptop, so was able to get everything saved. Now in the market for a new pc/laptop. Probably a laptop so I can just sell my !@#$%^&*, as my processor has gone up $30 in value. So could probably sell it for what I paid for it even the slight use I've gotten out of it (bought it in Jul). Also got an $ keyboard I could return if I got a laptop, and other !@#$%^&* I could sell for a good amount. MMMmmm. What to do...
JDS Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 lol laptop = pretty fail mind you, you can chill on your bed if you had a laptop..
masscarnage Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 most laptops now adays can keep up with most pc's
Aceflyer Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 most laptops now adays can keep up with most pc's Especially the bulkier/heavier high-performance ones that are classified as "desktop replacements." The lighter/smaller/cuter ones tend to be somewhat lacking in performance.

The lighter/smaller/cuter ones tend to be somewhat lacking in performance.they are more for portability than performance (and space saving as well)
Confess Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Wait, did you get a laptop before...or is this your old computer that was freezing/etc?
Memory Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 most laptops now adays can keep up with most pc's No they can't. Equivalent chipsets will always be better in a desktop then in a laptop due to power requirements and heat issues.
Russky Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 laptops are nice but vista fails so i hate my laptop

Ghetto D Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 I like laptops, but they will never replace Desktops imo, at least not anytime soon.
Aceflyer Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 they are more for portability than performance (and space saving as well) My laptop is pretty high performance, its performance specs are in excess of those of most desktops.
»Purge Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 my laptop randomly freezes for no reason... I'm not sure if it's a Vista thing or if HP just sucks.
Incomplete Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Try Alienware laptops then. Theyre probably more powerful than most of the PCs you are using now.
Samapico Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Try Alienware laptops then. Theyre probably more powerful than most of the PCs you are using now.For 4x the price I guess..

Shock Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 I'll probably always have a desktop.. no need for a laptop, I'm usually home.
PoLiX Posted December 2, 2007 Author Report Posted December 2, 2007 Wait, did you get a laptop before...or is this your old computer that was freezing/etc? Laptop = G/f's. We live together, so kind of both of ours now. My Desktop was the pos acting up before cause the processor fan clip broke, and fried the processor, well, superbly overheated it. I figure, I need to upgrade finalls anyways, so eh.

Hakaku Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 Meh, I've gotten used to Vista, so it doesn't bother me at all. If you've used only XP for ages though, then you'll probably find the switch to Vista difficult, and frustrating.
No_Remorse Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 ...mind you, you can chill on your bed if you had a laptop.. Just pull your bed up to your pc. Simple as that.
