Gibbit Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 STEP 1) Both players Declare a cred duel to the bot with a command like !crdduel And the bot takes a set amount of creds from each (10 mil) STEP 2) They duel STEP 3)both players declare the winner to the bot by typing the same command or another (up to XDOOM) along with the name of the winner (!crdduel Gibbit)now IF both players typed the same name the bot gives the creds to the victor, if they both type different names the duel is voided and the creds are returned to each player.

I dont think it should be a set amount the bot takes2. Should they mention who they want to duel too? so !credduel playername:credits2.5. Cancel if they don't both specify the same # of credits3. Both players should declare winner - thats good4. I would prefer that if they dont use the same name, that they both lose credits5. What if only one person says who won and not the other, or none say it at all - how much time should the bot give between !crdduel for the players to duel each other and declare winner?6. what if many people start trying to duel at the same time ... should I set up the bot to permit only 1 duel at the time to lesson confusion (and programming), or should I just allow as many as possible7. bot puts 5% of winnings in credit jackpot for doing his part
Gibbit Posted November 28, 2007 Author Report Posted November 28, 2007 you got it dooms, now to make it
JDS Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 i made a thread just like this a while ago... it would be nice to see it finally happen
XDOOM Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 you got it dooms, now to make it Well answer my questions in there first
JDS Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 1. I dont think it should be a set amount the bot takes2. Not like there is enough people to get more than 1 duel anyway.. 7. 5%? well yea
ipwn Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 you can always have the bot moderate the duel and make a special duel arena. i.e., the bot warps you into a box you duel and the bot records score
XDOOM Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 you can always have the bot moderate the duel and make a special duel arena. i.e., the bot warps you into a box you duel and the bot records score That was considered too, but would be A LOT of work that I may not have time for, so we'd rather find a way that doesn't involve spawning another bot to do it
Gibbit Posted November 30, 2007 Author Report Posted November 30, 2007 (edited) 1. I dont think it should be a set amount the bot takes2. Yes, the players should specify 2. Players shoudl definately mention who they want to duel 2.5. yes cancel the duel if they don't specify the same amount of creds, or make a tag they can add if they want to put in different ammounts. ie .crdduel tm_master:30000000 -uneven 3. Both players should declare winner - thats good 4. nah if they don't use the same name just have the bot give them an error try again message, or else someoen could duel mage and he could declare himself the winner before they duel and then they coudl end up winning and telling the bot they won and.... 5. I recommend making it so they have 1 minute after re-entering main to declare the winner. or if both players simply leave the zone from the duel arena give another timer that gives 30 minutes or so to return or else the bot would take both of there duel bets and add them to the jp. If you can only program a time limit give them about 30 minutes to declare the winner and if only one player declares the winner in that time the bot would just trust them since the other person obviously doesn't care, if none declare the winner then the bot can just take all the creds and add it to the jp. 6. I recommend making it so that there can be up to 3 at a time, since that uses all the arena's. 7. Yes I like the bot taking 5% for the jp PS, maybe add a command to report someone for interferring with a duel, which would lock the interferr-er out of the duel arena until the duel is over, or at the least a command that aborts the duel. Both of those would only work if both duelers give the bot the command. Edited November 30, 2007 by Gibbit
