»Purge Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 and then they killed the Native Americans and made this fantastic country.
Falcoknight Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 thanksgiving is originally a Canadian holldiday.. iim not sure how americans got a hold of it.. Lawl at you.

JDS Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 nOpe, though most americans will tell you diffrent..
rootbear75 Posted November 27, 2007 Author Report Posted November 27, 2007 (edited) nOpe, though most americans will tell you diffrent..jds u are re!@#$%^&*ed... it IS an american holidaythe thanksgiving in canada is different:As a liturgical festival' date=' the Canadian Thanksgiving corresponds to the [i']European[/i] harvest festival, during which churches are adorned with cornucopias, pumpkins, corn, wheat sheaves and other harvest bounty. English and other European harvest hymns are customarily sung on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend, along with scriptural lections derived from biblical stories relating to the Jewish harvest festival of Sukkot.so its not even your own country's harvest... and, i want to correct myself from what i said earlier...while most people think it has to do with the pilgrims or whatever, it marks the end of the United States harvest. In the United States' date=' Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving Day is an annual one-day holiday to give thanks, traditionally to God,[1'][2][3] for the things one has at the end of the harvest season. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November (i.e. the Thursday falling between November 22 and November 28). The period from Thanksgiving Day to New Year's Day is often collectively referred to as the "holiday season," and the holiday itself is often nicknamed Turkey Day. Thanksgiving is generally considered a secular holiday, and is not directly based in religious canon or dogma. Edited November 27, 2007 by rootbear75
MISTY_DAWN Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 Well then why does every teacher define it as: the day that the settlers sat down with the Indians and shared food etc...?
X`terrania Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 (edited) Stop grabbing !@#$%^&* off of wikipedia, Root, it doesn't help you in trying to get rid of our negative opinions about you. It's a North-American holiday, and it's based off of the European Harvest festival. And actually, we had our first Thanksgiving in 1578 when Martin Frobisher established a settlement in Canada, etc etc, while the Americans had their first Thanksgiving in the like 1600s or later. Bet Wiki didn't tell you that. So, Root, before you go around insulting other people's intelligence, at least have the !@#$%^&*in dignity to actually look at the !@#$%^&* you present.
