XDOOM Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 We need to think of some options to prevent people from speccing/leaving after a big flag game: 1. Offer 30 million credits if jp can get over 10 million in 10 minutes2. Offer incentives for smaller 15-20 mil games (2x credits or something), that way people won't be tired because one very large game finished3. Offer incentives for top 3 in points after scorereset (top 3 non-staff members get bonus credits)4. Cap max jp size to 50mil. Any other ideas? We already have a 2x increase ... but that doesn't seem to work. Quote
JDS Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 a jackpot cap is the only good idea out of the bunch. Just if you ever host a 'mega jackpot' game, get rid of the cap Quote
No_Remorse Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 I don't know about that non-staff member part. And also the taxing of people with over 30 mill creds. Shouldn't be punishing the people who play the zone most... Quote
JDS Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 should be a tax for UNDER 30mill.. that way those !@#$%^&*ers go negative Quote
XDOOM Posted November 22, 2007 Author Report Posted November 22, 2007 I have another idea ... this goes to my tax idea. Any player that specs or leaves zone within 10 minutes of a flag victory gets taxed 25% on their credits. The only problem with that is that would probably incldue if they went to a subarena ... hmmmm Quote
JDS Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 what? how would they know when game could end, it could be a useless 20mill jackpot, the person leaves, and then someone wins within 10minutes. unless i am not understanding what your saying that is dumb <_< Quote
XDOOM Posted November 22, 2007 Author Report Posted November 22, 2007 AFTER a jackpot is won.If you leave or spec within 10 minutes AFTER a jackpot is won ... then you get taxed. Quote
Hakaku Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 I think you need to do something with the credits which are taxed, like use it in a game, or you could add the taxed credits to the next round after the first is won. To explain:1. Everyone plays, jackpot = 50mil2. Everyone wins, 5% tax3. (bot: jackpot rises twice as fast in the next 30 secs or w/e)4. (bot adds that 5% [250 000] to next round) Maybe even double, or triple that tax if jackpot can get to a certain amount after a certain time. Quote
No_Remorse Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 I agree with doom's post about taxing people if they leave or spec within 10 minutes after the flag game. But I think 25% is pushin it, maybe like 10%, which can add up to a lot. This also may piss people off though. And I'm not really sure what you're getting at Hak, but if what I think you're saying is that you should tax 5% of the winners credits, I don't know what this would accomplish. Except make the next jackpot slightly larger, but that percentage would likely be taxed off the next round anyway. The idea of taxing is so players end up with less creds, unless I'm missing something. So if the credits get taxed, they should just disappear imo. Quote
Hakaku Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Not necessarily if the bot doubles(+10%)/triples(+15%) the added tax to the next round (and then takes away only -5%).It's not the best idea, but what I was trying to get at was that you need to do something with the taxed credits you take away from players. (say, add it in a weekend or monthly event or something) I don't really enjoy the fact that I'll get taxed 25% of my credits all the time, especially when I barely make it over 30mil [this would leave me with 22,5mil credits after]. I can't play deva all the time, nor do I ever win the jackpot, so it's unjust for me. I don't like playing games that are 1-7 hours and raising jackpot just to lose, and then considering the amount of time spent, I need to do something else (homework, life...) afterwards. That's the biggest flaw, deva's flag games are too long. Winning a jackpot is the only way to make credits, other than the occasional event if you stay up at 2-4am EST. If I made more credits from killing people, then maybe it would be easier for those of us who have lives to make credits. Quote
XDOOM Posted November 24, 2007 Author Report Posted November 24, 2007 New Idea: If you remain playing in the zone from when the flag game is won to 20 minutes after the flag game, you win 20 million credits. This only counts for flag games over 5 million and with at least 4 people playing. If you spec or leave you don;t get it.If you come back, you don't get it. Quote
XDOOM Posted November 27, 2007 Author Report Posted November 27, 2007 Even better idea, instead of using 20 million credits ... use all of the tax money from too high credits and donating and spread that to all of the players that are still playing and did not spec, or did not leave, and continued to play. Quote
XDOOM Posted July 14, 2008 Author Report Posted July 14, 2008 I am going to include a feature to hopefully keep players playing. If a player quits after a flag victory without getting at least 10 kills before quitting will get a 10% hit on their credits. Quote
»Purge Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 What if they have to leave for an emergency or for work? Sometimes people wait until the flag game is over so they can immediately run off to work or something similar. Quote
XDOOM Posted July 16, 2008 Author Report Posted July 16, 2008 What if they have to leave for an emergency or for work? Sometimes people wait until the flag game is over so they can immediately run off to work or something similar. Then take the hit? Its only 10% Quote
JDS Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 if they leave right after the flag game, the 10% should be fair ONLY if it applies to the winning team (freq 0 wins , freq 0 leaves within 10 minutes, freq 0 gets taxed...) (freq1 loses, freq1 leaves, no tax) but yea, if they REALLLLLLLY want to stay and finish the flag game, they are probly winning, and geting all the creds for winning , but losing 10%, isnt that bad... Quote
JDS Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 lol hardcore bump, no one even plays deva anymore Quote
Hakaku Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 People still play, just not you guys. JDS, I've barely ever seen you in-game, so I don't think you have the right to criticize, and Mage+, you always spec when people are playing, and then jump in when someone decides to win the flags so you can get creds. gg.
