I love pub day as much as the next man, but when I want to base with my freinds only and I create a priv with 7 people on it only to get eaten by a 20-30 player pub freq, it hardly seems fair. So can we get the cap put back on the pub freqs and take it off for pub day. Or another idea might be to let privs have up to 7 people, and then when pub increases let privs increase to a certain percentage of the biggest pub freq. either way i dont care i would just like to see it possible to base on privs again

maybe i did not make myself clear, im talking about on non-pub day days. the cap on pub freq's seems to be gone every day. so my suggestions were directly specifically towards non pub day days.

25 Pub v 7 priv will never be ok.. no matter how stacked the privs ships are its to much bullet/bomb spam.. so no its not ok it needs to be fixed so you can actually priv and win something..

7 Ignescent flyers, for example, could easily hold off a newbie 25 pub freq.

Depends on how "newbie" those 25 ppl are.....if your talking about 1 lanc and all other players has barely anything on their ship. Sure, you can easily hold it. But if your talking about a chunk of those 25 players has thors and reps/burst. Your not gonna hold unless you start spamming fields and bricks or if theres flankers.

You have to be joking.

 

First of all, Ignescent, with the exception of 2 members, is not good. Second, no freq of 7 people can hold off a 25 man pub, unless the attackers are complete noobs, no matter how stacked they are.

Look either way the point is, can freq sizes be locked until pub-day and then relocked afterwards. it would be nice to not have to base with a group of morons on occasion. most pub teams consist on non-summon lancs with no ad and a bunch of warbirds/javs that are not built for basing. so yes or no to my question?

this thread fails, just a newbie complaining. Get better, get more skill, get your friends on your private freq better, wait till they get more skill, then attempt it. Newbs + priv freqs = a dead noob team

heh... from what ive seen.. everyday i see a 20-30 pub team... and for the most part i never see a private team win... as some1 said... as long as a team have item ASSS and flankers... a private team wont stand a chance.

 

but on the other hand... if the pub team had a cap of 8... well i can imagine the hs population going down again... but increasing the private freq cap as the public freq gets bigger is a cool idea... or maybe fixing the private freq # as more people are actually playing (speccers not included) would be cool.... but i could imagine stacked freqs outa this and people crying again...

 

so the way it is now... helps newb players.... and is annoying to better players... and an increase of private team in any method... will only make newbs have a harder time and make better players wealthier... since better players would know how to communicate well with a team. This is a tough choice to make...

 

my opinion is... increase private team (when the module is rdy as doc mentioned)... but make it so newbs stil stand a chance... like a team of 20 ppl on a pub team... and a cap of a private would be half the highest pub(so 10)... but the lowest a priv could be is 7... but i bet doc alrdy has an idea for this anyway:P so my opinions dont matter blum.gif

I agree with 3vil.

 

When I left, privs were dominating and the game was boring. No one really was able to prevent us from winning due to us being more skilled and the pubs only having 1 player more then privs. Now its the complete opposite. If i had to choose, id rather have it this way because it does allow a lot more noobs to learn how to flag and have some fun in those massive 20 vs 20 pub games.

 

The best solution would probably be to up the priv limit a bit so that the games are a bit more even.

The freq manager needs to be rewritten to be better at balancing teams, *but* that won't happen soon. Mods do their best to keep the teams even, but they're only human.

 

Lies. Every other game, I see a freq with 25people, then a freq with 16 people. The mods just ignore it.
