Simple Kill Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 It's probably just me, but it feels wierd because sometimes the limits change depending on your lag, and in base the server will crash, or it will lag is there anyway to stop this lag?kinder anouying Quote
zephoid Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 i think there is a bug in the lag detection system. it seems random people will be specd for lag at periodic times. i find it too much a coincidence me, oid, and another person(cant remember name) were all specd at the same time this morning for lag when im positive i was not lagging. There have been so many cases of ppl saying this has happened that i cant even begin to count. It has happened to me quite alot during flagging games, but rarely during pub games w large #'s of ppl. When i have FIOS(10mb/s) and i wont lag out on even the most intensive games (Crysis, Bf2, CoH:OF, even the ALPHA TEST of Oblivion multilayer) i find it hard to believe that i would lag out in a 2d space shooter. I don't know if its worth brain's time to try to fix this since it would probably be a hard problem to fix, but i just wanted to let the coders know its probably a glitch. Quote
Dr Brain Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 We're using an old version of Arnk Dylie's lag module from HZ. I'll see if I can get an updated version off of him sometime. It may not be this week, however. Quote
»D1st0rt Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 FIOS(10mb/s)Now I'm not one to support arnk's lag module seeing as it hates me, but I will be one to point out that you can still have latency with high transfer rates Quote

Dr Brain Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 No, usually transfer rates and latency are not correlated (once you get above the basic transmission threshold, I mean). Quote
