candygirl Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Have you seen the ps4 yet?If not here ya go.
»Purge Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 that's not the PS4... that's the PSX (not to be confused with PS1, also called PSX now). I think it's an abandoned project and was supposed to be a compe!@#$%^&*or for XBOX along with the PS2 a while ago.
candygirl Posted November 17, 2007 Author Report Posted November 17, 2007 Its still for sale in japan.
»Purge Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 well it's pretty much an expansion of the PS2 mainly to be a media center... who needs that nowadays? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX_(DVR)
rootbear75 Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 also, its too soon for them to reveal a new PS
Suicide_Run Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 Probably another dust magnet with tons of problems =/
Smong Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 The PS3 has or will get a TV tuner add on that will make it a DVR.
Ancient Power Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 still the dumb blonde as always candygirl <3
candygirl Posted December 2, 2007 Author Report Posted December 2, 2007 It was a joke but some did not get it..like you lol
CardSharp Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 Lawlers. Sony ftw! Have a 40gb ps3 and it's wonderful.
candygirl Posted December 9, 2007 Author Report Posted December 9, 2007 we made a filter for are ps3 works good no dust gets to it at all.
tcsoccer and neptune Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 I'm fine with my PS2, it has more games then the PS3 anyway.
Samapico Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 it has more games then the PS3 anyway. Can't PS3 play PS2 games?
Smong Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 I heard if you buy a 40gb model today you can't play ps2 or psx games on it since they took some hardware out to make it cheaper to produce.
candygirl Posted December 10, 2007 Author Report Posted December 10, 2007 I heard if you buy a 40gb model today you can't play ps2 or psx games on it since they took some hardware out to make it cheaper to produce. I play all my ps2 game on it...where did you hear this?
»Ceiu Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 When Sony released the PS3 in the UK they stopped producing units with the Emotion Engine chip (the thing that runs PS2 games). They've moved on to software emulation, ala 360. Naturally there are issues with it at first, but they're (slowly) working on correcting them. If I remember correctly, once they reach their goal on the software emulation compatibility, the EE chip will be disabled via software update and everyone's PS3s will be running in emulation mode.

I doubt Sony will either.
»Ceiu Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 Probably not. They'll probably do exactly what MS is doing: working on the games with the most popularity and issues. If you're the only one having trouble playing "Big Mother Trucker", they probably won't give a !@#$%^&* if it works well or not.
Smong Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 The article I read made it sound like all European ps3's didn't have the EE (regardless of disk size), and the 40gb model didn't have the emulation software (or had it disabled, since I would think Sony distributes 1 firmware for all models).
Incomplete Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 I heard if you buy a 40gb model today you can't play ps2 or psx games on it since they took some hardware out to make it cheaper to produce. I heard that too, makes no difference to me as I don't have a PS2 anyway.
Smong Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 (edited) What I want to know is will old guncon 1 and 2 games work with the guncon3 controller? Since the ps3 has a harddisk and there aren't many guncon games, they could put something on it to patch the games as they load. This would be a good idea since less and less people have CRT TVs and the old games are still fun to play. Edited December 11, 2007 by Smong
