Honestly... retail !@#$%^&*ociates handle the most !@#$%^&* for the least pay. My g/f always wonders why I am so nice to them even when they !@#$%^&* up, and it is mostly because I've worked retail for a little over 3yrs now, and I know how much !@#$%^&* I had to do and how hard I had to dig for the $1.80ish worth of raises I have gotten since I started. Really, it's pathetic the way companies can get off paying people, and how I live in an area that is higher cost of living than somewhere across the water, but because it is a major city, a group of people at a desk in Chicago, think they have a higher cost of living, and should start out $1.50 more than we do. I have 3yrs, and someone who just starts 20miles down the road, can be making as much as me...

Granted there is other companies and !@#$%^&*, but I'm just working to get out of there. I gave them my time, and took my shots at moving up, but the management turn over is just as bad as the !@#$%^&*ociates, and you have to make a new impression on every one of em, and it kills promotion opportunities, mhmm. But eh, just my !@#$%^&*in.

Retail sucks !@#$%^&*. Period. I already hate people, and when I was in retail....well, let's just say I didn't last long...

Losa, !@#$%^&*. Ah well, it was worth a try blum.gif

However...how close are you to MN?

lol Polix. the closest to retail i ever did was selling tickets at amusement parks. there are other reasons i worked there for which i dont need to discuss lol. but i !@#$%^&*ed at customers all the time. especially when they gave me at!@#$%^&*ude. i can't deal with customers on a regular basis, that !@#$%^&* would drive me crazy.

Honestly, I'd rather work fast food. You give em their food, they go eat, and leave. No dealing with them 30-90 days later returning !@#$%^&* !@#$%^&*in bout it. No having them want you to service !@#$%^&*, but not wanting to authorize everything. Or when they can't return it, whining and !@#$%^&*in about it. Or !@#$%^&*in about the last person they had to deal with, and blah blah blah. Seriously, why can't it just be like a grocery store or fast food. You get your !@#$%^&*, get to the checkout, and just pay and get through.

Nothing so far at McD's beats the !@#$%^&* I had today. She wanted "HOT AND FRESH" fries at frickin 10pm...so I had some fries that had only been up for like 5 mins. She gets her food, 2 mins latter she comes back in, throws the bag down, points to the fryers and says, "I WANT THOSE FRIES" as if I'm supposed to give two ASSS.

LOL. k, deal. will you get me discounts on big macs, though?

I'll get you discounts on anything you want baby.

lmao. people are stupid. i would've threw the fries in her face and told her to get the !@#$%^&* out.

oh, and my favorite is big macs. (hint)

LoL, I just imagined myself doing that, and laughed for a good 10 seconds until I imagined what would happen afterwards, which would be me without a job...then I stopped laughing........

btw, double cheese ftw, but I'll get you all the bigmacs you want

Holy crap, it's 2am. I gotta get up soon.

Nice chatting with you all. G'nite.

a man who can get me discounts on big macs is a keeper.

i seriously would've done that though. i tell all my supervisors beforehand the type of person i am and that if they're not ok with the possibility of me !@#$%^&*ing back at a customer then tell me now.

I never would have got the job if I did that. I'll bear it, since I'm sure she's probably just pissed that she looks like a butch dike and can't get laid by a real man...

Anyway, off to bed. smile.gif

Managing retail isn't bad.

I managed retail to put myself through college, after 4 years I was up to 47k/year. Granted I spent a year as a key holder and a year as an !@#$%^&*istant manager before I was made store manager.

Being a store manager in retail is nice because you get to make all of the decisions smile.gif

If I had stayed with it I'd be a DM making about 1 1/2 times that by now, but retail isn't for me.

Instead I have a nice 8-5 making more than 1 1/2 times my retail salary, and I never have to worry about working weekends ever again!

Hey nin, you should come to Edmonton we are having an economic boom and you could get a high paying job with your degree. B)

Syrus, $15 is pretty good. Not in the long run of course. I was making $12 in my fourth year working for an independent contractor, mostly doing concrete basements/driveways. And that was by Niagara Falls, Ont. But what you're making now is pretty good. I didn't think Mickey Ds payed that much.
