»nintendo64 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 (edited) Hey guys!, long time!, well i finished my BSc, it was in Civil Engineering (i'm not licensed yet). I'm right now unemployed, but i used to work at a construction company in the residential buildings deparment. I worked as a project supervisor. 3 projects were !@#$%^&*igned to me, 1 appartment complex (8 buildings each with 4 levels, 1 appartment per level) the second was an 8 level building (2 appartments per level til 7 floor and 1 penthouse) and the third was 12 level building (i forgot the details). My job was to make sure the buildings progress ran according to its respective schedule (They were handed to me by the Management Department), plus other supervising works !@#$%^&*igned by my bosses (i had 3, at first it was a nightmare then it turned out ok). I earned USD 13,200 /yr (after taxes) plus they give me some benefits with buying appartments. Edited November 19, 2007 by nintendo64
»nintendo64 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 sup n64? Hey, not much here. Today was a little slow so i decided to check on the community. I guess SubSpace is doing better than Infantry and Cosmic Rift, that's for sure.
ESCANDAL0SA Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 not to be mean... but isn't 13,200/year kind of little?
»nintendo64 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 not to be mean... but isn't 13,200/year kind of little? Yea probably
ESCANDAL0SA Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 lol 2 weeks. i thought you've been working there for years. you'll probably get promoted soon. but still, if it was up to me... 35/hour for a manager position at mcdonalds, i wouldn't take it.
»1587200 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Where'd you get $35/hr? I make $29k/yr, roughly $13/hr, which even though the hours are longer, the gross pay is better than my previous job, so in my mind it all works out. At UPS I was only making $20k/yr, but part time hours, roughly $15/hr, but I'd rather not work for a bunch of racist pricks to toss the people who know what they're doing to the side so they can better their image, yet hurt their operation. Their current promotion process is there to promote women and minorities yes, but they're only promoting the ones who they know can't hack the job, and who will eventually quit. Frickin POS company. Stay away from UPS.
ESCANDAL0SA Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 i just !@#$%^&*umed that your pay can go up to $35/hour as management. i swear it's higher than 13/hour.
»1587200 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Well, I work anywhere from 40-46 hours a week, so it's roughly $13/hr. And $35/hr works out to around $85k/yr, and I'd totally run a McD's for $85k/yr...
ESCANDAL0SA Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 lmao. wow... mcdonald's pay is !@#$%^&*ty. they make so much money, would it hurt to pay their managers more? lol
rootbear75 Posted November 19, 2007 Author Report Posted November 19, 2007 i made ~11/hr working as a lead cashier part time... imagine what i would have made as a store manager........(or a support manager even...)
»1587200 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Gotta keep in mind, I'm a new rookie manager. I'll get paid more as time goes on. Why drop $40k/yr on someone who doesn't know anything yet? Ya know...
ESCANDAL0SA Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 True... but when you say you'll get paid more as time goes on, how much are you talking about? I don't think the pay jumps a couple dollars =/
»1587200 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Well, 7% is quite the increase from the 5.5% we had a while back. It should jump enough to keep me clothed and sheltered Mo money, mo problems, so as long as I can live, I'm content
ESCANDAL0SA Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 lmao. working in food and retail isn't my thing. it's an okay job i guess, once you do get the increase. but i wouldn't settle for it.
