Incomplete Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 On xbox live you're able to get a load of old classic games and play them online. Do you think theres a way we could get continuum there? I could always message some of the dev people from Microsoft if need be. Just thinking it would boost the population by a load.
»Purge Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 how can we play continuum using a controller? unless you can plug a keyboard in, then that would be nice.
Incomplete Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 You can plug in a USB keyboard or use the xbox control / keyboard thing. Although that would be more difficult to use. heres a pic...
Samapico Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Playing continuum with a controller would require some changes in the controls/interface. It would probably require a button to cycle through the available special items... And/or a key that acts like Shift (changes effect of all keys)
PunkElite Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 if they did it, it would give me more of a reason to upgrade from my normal old xbox, so far i just cant commit to a new console lol
PoLiX Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 I use a controller for SS sometimes... not all that hard, just takes time to get use to it.
Incomplete Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 Alright well i'll message someone from the dev team from Microsoft and i'll keep you up to date with what they say.
PoLiX Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 the issue though... the way the servers work and all. Gonna keep it from happening.
ThunderJam Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Control wise I think it is possible. Movement:Either use one control pad in which case you can hold it diaganol to rotate and move forward at same time. OR use two control sticks/pads one for rotation and one for movement. Maybe players could choose which they wanted. You got a L and R trigger buttons for bullets and bombs, you got 4 XY kind of buttons you could use in combination for specials, boosting/shift is the only thing i would think the problem would be. Doesn't 360 have multiple LR buttons like the playstations? like L1 L2 R1 R2 ?? Select could do F1, start could be like pressing the esc key.
rootbear75 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 (edited) Select could do F1, start could be like pressing the esc key.well it would have to be an expanded F1... i mean, how could u do all of the Fx functions on a controller... and u can easily plug a usb keyboard in...also, how would u chat? there would probably be the issues with names and everything, unless the server automatically added some symbol to the front of every 360 player and the dev team at microsoft would have to get Priit's okay beforehand oh.. IT HAS TO BE FREE!we cant go and have microsoft adding a points charge to the game... unless the money goes back into the community Edited November 15, 2007 by rootbear75
Delic Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 i thought it was possible to play ss with a controller since many moons back ;/
»Purge Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 technically, it is, but a keyboard is waaaay better.
Dav Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 if it could be made to run then we would need to have a version with a set of key defs pre-defined for the 360. The only difficultly will be the menus. However running CTM on a 360 isnt going to be easy.

Dav Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 priit wont give the code to the most trusted members of the CTM community. Do you really think he would turf it over to micro$oft?
rootbear75 Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 ooor, if we get priit to at least talk to MS then it might happen... or if bak finishes his Discretion client......... (is discretion going to work with subgame?)
Dav Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 Discretion would be the way to make this happen on many platforms, not just x-box but it seems to have slowed up a tad.

»doc flabby Posted November 16, 2007 Report Posted November 16, 2007 (edited) They only need to use subgame encryption anyway, an XBOX360 isnt a PC, its locked down. prittk isnt really needed. Edited November 16, 2007 by doc flabby

Incomplete Posted November 16, 2007 Author Report Posted November 16, 2007 I have messaged someone from the dev department of Microsoft, hopefully they will message me back giving me an idea of what is the best way to go about this.
Hakaku Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 I doubt it's possible (and Discretion isn't even close to having a graphical interface). Top that with copyright issues (considering Microsoft makes profit off online gameplay), and multiple crappy interface complications if trying to copy Continuum (e.g. all the ? shortcuts) - you end up with a useless game, which they might as well remake themselves.
