EuRa Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Hi, thanks for reading. I'm EuRa, EG Moderator, League Coordinator. I run 2 types of leagues, one is vet league, the other is for vets and noobs alike, called a draft league. In every season of the draft league, I have had between 100 and 200 noobs sign up. This past season, however, I had about 50. When I started questioning new players from all zones, I realized that EG was a gateway zone for a lot of players. The decline in numbers, however, made me wonder what the !@#$%^&* was going on. I thought SS was dying. But it turns out that is you download Continuum from SubspaceDownloads.com, the games second-popular zone (Extreme Games) isn't in the zone list. Noobs loved EG for it's simplicity and speed, and many of them eventually moved on to tougher zones. People who are new to Continuum won't know how to add EG right away, and therefore have little patience. My question/suggestion, is that if I (or anyone) re-zip Continuum together with a zone list that includes EG already pre-added (and other zones also not included), would somebody be able to load that program to SubspaceDownloads.com in place of the current Continuum .40 file? I don't know how lazy or active the people in charge of that site are, but if they are willing, I would love to do this! EG isn't the only zone missing out on this, there are others as well. We should make Continuum look bigger than it is, with more variance in zones and levels. This keeps the casual gamer more occupied in the game, and all of our zone's populations should increase. I talked to Bajan already (he was in "duel" arena in EG), and he told me I should write the suggestion on ssforum. That's why I'm here (so you can thank him for my pestering!). If you are willing, I am able. Please contact me here, or at: bases@iwinez.com Kind Regards,EuRa Quote
»Purge Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Testtube is an admin of SSDownloads.com so you can try dropping him this message. I'm sure that EG not appearing on Continuum's initial zone list was a mistake, and should be fixed. Quote
ThunderJam Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 And several different people ahve put together their own ss installers that I'm sure include EG. Quote
