that what im getting on a wireless and my fios and its only $29.99 a month but most of the times i get lag from S2C.

 

I think my plan was a 5mb/2mb

may be a long shot but have you run a trace in CTM? perhaps there is a router nearby playing up or something.

 

ANyway if you are paying for better then that phone them. If they don't fix it leave for a new ISP.

If ur in windows:

try this:

 

Start -> Run

Type "cmd"

then type

tracert

 

example:

i would type: tracert www.cox.net

the first line is 2ms all across and teh rest of it is request timed out

well, that first hop is whats causing your issues... have you thought about getting your cable modem replaced?

may i remind you that regardless of the speed, you should still be able to do a tracert thru the cmd.... if it doesnt work, then there are router or modem issues

May I remind you that he is able to gather data of his connection speed, which means there is data that flows in and out without any problem.The fact that any ping/trace blocks at the first hop is ... weird.

no, i know that, but this last weekend, we had super slow speeds and high lag, so my mom got the cable modem replaced, and it was fixed... (I FINALLY HAD A LAG-FREE GAME OF HALO FOR THE FIRST TIME )
