Yudhishthira Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 Greetings,I've download and installed Continuum .40 successfully, but whenever I click an arena and click "play", the stars start flying at me as if it's going to load, but then I get a short little message that says "Connection to Server Lost". I can play this fine on another computer in my house, so I know it's not my Internet connection or anything. Anyways, any help would be appreciated!
Dav Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 do you have a different firewall, operating system (e. win XP or win vista) or type of user account (limited, admin) on the computer you cannot connect with compared to the one that workes ok?
Yudhishthira Posted November 9, 2007 Author Report Posted November 9, 2007 I turned off my window's firewall, and that didn't help. I don't have any other anti-spam/spyware/virus software on my computer either. I just reformatted the hard drive on it so everything is pretty much default! I'm running Windows XP. As for the users, I'm not sure! I haven't touched anything yet!
Cancer+ Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 He means on YOUR computer, are you an administrator or just a regular user? Also, did you download the upgrade or the full install? (I think there is an "upgrade", correct me if I'm wrong.)
Yudhishthira Posted November 9, 2007 Author Report Posted November 9, 2007 I downloaded the Continuum .40 file right off of the Technical Support section that has the links listed. This is entirely my computer. I'm the only one that uses it. To be honest, I really don't understand this whole administrator and user thing. I know you can set up users from the control panel, but I have not done any of that. Is that the administrator/user thing you are talking about? Thanks again for your help
»T-Man Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 Yes, in the control panel you set up user accounts with admin rights or limited accounts. If you never set any of that up you should have admin rights. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing .40 when the firewall and antivirus is turned off?
Cancer+ Posted November 10, 2007 Report Posted November 10, 2007 Have you played .38 or .39 on this computer previously?
