Dr Brain Posted November 10, 2007 Author Report Posted November 10, 2007 You have to have a valid user name, and the corresponding password. Use the same one you log into continuum with. Leave chats empty if you don't know what it is. Quote
Linear-Key Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 I downloaded the chatnut as a .jar, I'm using version 2.5 currently. I'm having problems using friendly-team chat and enemy-team chat. When I used //, the messages were sent as a enemy-team chat to the spec freq. When I used ", the messages were sent to friendly-team. Quote
Arry Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 i cant login with chatnut. Do i have to register? what is chats? what is password (which zone? or wtf). when i actually believe i found the correct password...i get a box saying the server is busy... Then i close Firefox, and i cant login to any continuum zones because it says i have tried to login too many times. please try agian in a few hour. OMFGWTFBBQ!!!! I think I ran into the same problem today. I tried to log in with one of my other aliases. It said the password was incorrect. I tried a few different passwords it might have been.... now it's say the server is busy and I can't even go back to my original alias that I was just logged in with.... I think that means my IP has been temp banned from SSC for login spams..... great.... I guess I learned my lesson.... make sure you absolutely know your passwords before you try to log in..... I think the chatnut makes it easier to get IP banned from SSC because you can rapid fire logins and the big boys up at SSC don't like that... This isn't really a complaint about chatnut OR ssc.... more of a warning/tip for anyone who uses chatnut because it doesn't store your profiles/passwords. Quote
Arry Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Myself and others have noticed that when using chatnut, it locks up. In my experience, it locks up at seemingly random times. I could be on it for 2 seconds, or 2 hours hours and it will randomly lock up. Many times it happens within the first 5 minutes. Quote
Sharpflame Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 It's locked up on me a few times, I haven't noticed the cause. I think it has usually been if I leave it there and mess with some other program, when I try to go back to chatnut it won't respond Quote
rootbear75 Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 @sf: exactly i do request the addition of some commands use normally in subspace: ?ignore?log(buffer) will add more as i think of them Quote
Dr Brain Posted February 17, 2008 Author Report Posted February 17, 2008 Uploaded a new jar with fixes from Cerium and the new server's IP. Quote
Arry Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Cut and paste of what cerium said he added: Cerium> ok, changes I've made Cerium> Added support for clickable URLs, and modified the behavior of the scrollbar to not auto-scroll when it's not at the bottom. Cerium> Added support for ?ignore as well as a list of ignored players in chatnut.conf which follows the same format as the private messages stuff. Cerium> Also: Brain, I hate your message chaining system. It's clumsy as !@#$%^&*. Cerium> Fixed a bug that prevented zones.txt from being loaded. Cerium> Improved how zones.txt is found and loaded. Dello's message appeared on my text in chatnut. I also have to agree with the frequent lock. As far as I can tell, you're still logged in behind the locked chat window. It does lock up way too much though. :/ Also, three quarters of the menus don't work for me. Namely, everything in the Edit menu save for Edit Chats, the entirety of Macros and Help menus as well. File appears to work fine. It's probably more of a bother than a boost of motivation for me to post, but I felt like it should be known... Quote

»Purge Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 The whole site gives a 500 Internal Server Error for me. Your site's Chatnut is my only workable access to Continuum. Quote
»Ceiu Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Same. I may have to do something about that. Quote

Dr Brain Posted August 10, 2010 Author Report Posted August 10, 2010 Anyone have a recent copy of this? The copy I found is really old, and I'd rather not recompile everything if I don't have to. Quote
vetta64 Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 can you post the chatnut download to the forum so I can access this way at least until the website is up again? Quote
Dr Brain Posted August 16, 2010 Author Report Posted August 16, 2010 Nope. Read my message above. Quote
Dav Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 how recent is the most recent version, I can digout mu old PC and see if its on there but it will probably be 6 months old if i have a copy. Quote
Dav Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 in that case I hope i get time tonight to blow the dust off my old laptop and take a look. Quote
Dr Brain Posted August 25, 2010 Author Report Posted August 25, 2010 I'm waiting for someone to upload it before I fix the site, since rebuilding the chatnet jar would take far more time than I'm willing to spend. Quote
