JDS Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Why? Why do it? its not nessesary, we are such a close net community that doing such a rotten, useless thing should be shamed upon from the newest player to the oldest player. What is wrong with you people? My recent netban has made it pretty obvious. Until the power shifts , and there are no more useless people who feel banning is the best choice. I quit. ( i presume that will be never. Which also would lead to ssforum, I quit that aswell. Party? or shame? Bad comments to jds? good ones? i don't care. goodbye
Cancer+ Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 lol Without banning, there would be anarchy. There would be so many more cheats. It would ruin a game. Learn how to play the game right and you wouldn't have to quit.
Knight Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Well, that was a waste of a read... afk
ra$ta420 Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 he got banned for spaming a stupid !@#$%^&*ing chat, great job on baning over this.
No_Remorse Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 What exactly was it you were spamming?
»doc flabby Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Well the whole system is pretty much corrupt, and i presonally i am frustrated at the inconsitancy in which rules are applied. But why quit SS? And why did u get banned/

X`terrania Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 With out rules SS would be like playing socom1 everyone cheates=no fun "why play. you play socom? Yes lol Im a shooter fan. Every game we have has guns. PS2 and PC lol, i've played socom since it came in august of 2002 got every single game, even the ones on the PSP. i don't mind the cheaters in socom 1, it's just when all the cheaters are like screeching 11 year olds it sort've gets to you after awhile. do you have combined assault?
1$hot Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Hmm Spamming huh? And he was banned for spamming Apperantly Staff in certain zones have forget to use silence which well imo is better for this type of offense. As for JDS quitting, Good luck
Dav Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 If it was a local zone chat you can only really get a local ban. If it was a server-wide chat i always thought they were unmoderated.
Knight Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 They arn't listed nore unlisted in the NetWide Ban Policies. It boils down to the factors with what he was spamming, and how severe it was. It was an SS-Wide chat, and was being spammed with an alias like %%1%%red%flag%%, to avoid easy ?ignores. I don't know much about it past the screenshots I saw. I think the ban is a bit extensive. However it's more then expected As for 1$hot... you can't silence cross zone... Why is this still open? I thought ban disputes wern't permitted via the forums...
Dav Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 its not really a dispute, more of a moan about it. The SS-Wide chat issue seems to come up often as to weather a ban can be placed. It can be included in the cross-zone spamming rule but often its not directed at a partivcular zone/individual which rules out a ban for this reason. The line on this issue is quite blurred from what i understand.
Knight Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 (edited) Indeed. My opinion is... I don't join chats stupid people have access to ^^ To be netbannable the incident should fit into these qualifications: Spammer Specifics:Is hard to, or unignorable (Via %% aliases, or switching names consistantly)Constant or large amounts of spam (fillls your screen in seconds)Past history within the zone the pilot frequence. I don't believe in giving known problematic players too many chances Chat specifics:If the chat is a squad chat, the chat can be changed easily. If it's a chat that can be local'd, then local it.If it's an SS-Wide or extremely well known chat that has a constant playerbase in it, making rotating it and keeping a person out impossible. Then it's understable. If the person(s) doing this fit into these, then it should be bannable. Past that, there are available limitations you can put on pilots/chats to stem the tide so to speak. rootbear75 Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 Probably already said this, but im too tired to re-look over the topic but: Even if the chat is private, spamming it constantly after being ignored, falls under 2 categories:1) Switching names to avoid ?ignore2) Cross-zone spamming as for the cross zone spamming, its basically the same as m!@#$%^&* PMing someone cross zone, but instead of 1 person. its a whole group of people
Suicide_Run Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 Well, in this case...I believe he didnt switch names to avoid ignore. He switched names to spam cause jds doesnt spam on his original name.
Dav Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 its a shame you cant stop this spam by other means, there seems to be a lot of it at the moment from many people and its just annoying. Someone really needs to get this greay area cleared up so things like spamming can be dealt with properly.
Hoch Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 You will find all your queries and confusion answeredin my rather elucidating explanation in the followingthread: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic...t=0&start=0 In any event, JDS has not disputed his ban. So as faras I'm concerned it's a closed matter. -Hoch
candygirl Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 That would be a good add on for this game (lock out spam from a zone or zones)
Cancer+ Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 What is the point of spamming anyways other than to be annoying? It sure doesn't help the game. Maybe JDS will learn from this if he actually doesn't "quit". PLAY THE GAME AND DONT BE IMMATURE.
