Example: i got in this box, and when i go inside this box a few seconds later i end up in another box i created, and it works vise versa. how to i make one of those? i heard u need some kind of bot or something, but how do i get those? Samapico Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 This has nothing to do with the map editor actually.Check general development forum, the 'one stop shop' thread will link you to MervBot, and various sites to get a plug-in that will allow you to configure warp points.
tiss61 Posted October 28, 2007 Author Report Posted October 28, 2007 ok now that i have downloaded mervbot version 38, how do i use it?
JDS Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 (edited) you need to know how to program... i sugest reading www.shanky.com/server and understanding all of that before you even consider trying to make a bot Edited October 29, 2007 by JDS
Samapico Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 First, read the 'readme.txt', 'operators.txt' , and 'spawns.txt' that came with your mervbot... Try to get the bot to log in your zone first. Once you did that, just make it load this plugin, and configure it properly. Moving this to General development
tiss61 Posted October 30, 2007 Author Report Posted October 30, 2007 awww sounds complicated, but i guess i'll do my best... this is gonna take months, even years
Bak Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 (edited) um, you can also just make the region a warp region if you are using ASSS. Then no coding is required. In CLT it's just a matter of pressing the "auto warp" check box while a region is selected and selecting where you want to warp the player; I can't imagine it being too much more difficult in DCME. http://continuumlt.sourceforge.net/manual/#regionswindow Edited October 31, 2007 by Bak
tiss61 Posted November 23, 2007 Author Report Posted November 23, 2007 (edited) i still dont get it... i'm trying to make it so it's for hyperspace... not trench wars. so the tiles a bit different... and i'm using DCMEby the way can u put MervBot on here for me to download? i cant find the website Edited November 23, 2007 by tiss61
Samapico Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 mervbot.com Also, you can look in the One stop shop topic in this forum, it has links
»D1st0rt Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 If you're making it for Hyperspace, ignore MERVBot You'll need to do it with eLVL data like Bak described, I don't know how to do it in DCME but I'm sure Sama can fill you in
Samapico Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 To create an ASSS autowarp region in DCME:Select the 'Region' toolSpoiler! --Click here to view--http://www.dcme.sscentral.com/images/tutorial/Tool_region.pngCreate a new region from the top toolbar by clicking 'Add new region'.Spoiler! --Click here to view--http://www.dcme.sscentral.com/images/tutorial/create_autowarp/Create_region_1.pngDefine the region by simply selecting areas. To remove an area from the region, use the Control key. You can use magic-wand-like selections to define your region as well. You can have as many regions as you want.Spoiler! --Click here to view--http://www.dcme.sscentral.com/images/tutorial/create_autowarp/Create_region_2.pngClick the pencil in the regions list to edit the region's properties. Select 'Autowarp' and enter the coordinates where you'd like to be warped to when entering the region.Spoiler! --Click here to view--http://www.dcme.sscentral.com/images/tutorial/create_autowarp/Autowarp_properties.png This is just so I can find this thread later when we eventually build a complete DCME tutorial/user guide:DCMETUTORIAL
