zephoid Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 (edited) GEZE THE ZONE IS OLD! Brains profile:age: 100kid <12um... 88 years ago... man.. thats like 75 years before SS started, and you were already making the zone! Edited October 31, 2007 by zephoid Quote
ESCANDAL0SA Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 ok...well, name kids who are currently under 14 years of age and play HS. the only one i can think of is Sharpflame, and he has the power to punish people for swearing, which he never does. Quote
Dr Brain Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 They're the players that never talk and never stick out. I doubt they'd interact with you at all. Quote
ESCANDAL0SA Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 (edited) ok then if they never talk at all... most of the swearing occurs in the spec chat, and the people are in spec are certainly over 14, most are actually over 18... and we swear for fun, and none of us mind, why punish us for it? also, i find it ironic that we can't say "", yet, we can say "" and get away with it. i'm sure the kids still know that it's swearing despite eliminating a letter. 11___________ Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 I am 100% fine with swearing, as long as people f*ck don't f*ck over f*ck do f*ck it!!! F*CK!!!! Quote
nikegurl637 Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 Doc's not going to change it, it hasn't been changed in like 7+ (?) years, arguing/protesting/bartering is pointless. Rules are rules, and if you can't follow them then get punished or leave. Quote
Dr Brain Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 I've listed at least three reasons to have the rule, yet no one has come up with a single reason not to have it. Only arguments have been against the reasons behind it. Quote

Rules are rules, and if you can't follow them then get punished or leave. Where in my posts have i told him to change it? try to point that out for me. kthnx, tryagain.i'm not really arguing against it, i'm questioning if having that rule actually does anything.also, i'm pointing out that staff is inconsistent with punishment. I've listed at least three reasons to have the rule, yet no one has come up with a single reason not to have it. Only arguments have been against the reasons behind it. well, i just want you to answer why people get punished for spelling out the entire swear word, but not when they leave a letter out.i understand why the rule is up there, but in the bigger perspective, i don't see it being that effective. Choose Profile Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 The rule is fine, blah blah blah, i know brain isnt going to change it. But i just dont see what the point is of said rule when it apparently is fine for me to spam swears to every person in pub, as long as its in PM's. You can't argue its uneffectively policed, because screenshots offer proof of offenders. Sure, screenshots can be edited, but what % of the HS population is smart enough (and/or stupid enough to bother) to do such a thing. And if I am wrong about the rule regaurding being able to spam swears in PMs (which i've been told by regular mods is legal), then I will be more than happy to show my 3 dozen screen shots of RC 1223 swear spamming me, several of which have been sent to bomook when i originally tried to find out if this was legal, and I was eventually told it was indeed legal after bomook talked to higher ups. I can understand swears being allowed in freq chats, because if youre willing to team up with them, then you in turn should be willing to listen to there swears. If team player does it and it is not liked, switch teams. Just as well it can be argued that when it comes to swearing in PM's, the person being sweared AT can just ignore the offender, but I believe the same idea can be very easily applied to pub chat. If I swear in pub chat, ignore me and you'll never hear me again. If a player is smart enough to download SS, player is smart enough to use the ?ignore command. Eh Quote
nikegurl637 Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 Losa, my post was not directed at you (else I might have used "@LOSA" or a direct quote), it was a general remark towards the constant topics regarding the swearing rule... "kthx". But, how do you know no kids in spec chat are ~14? Again, like Doc said, it's unlikely they'll tell you.And swearing for fun is still breaking the rules, of course staff will punish you. aquarius Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 If a player is smart enough to download SS, player is smart enough to use the ?ignore command. No, they're not. We're talking about some kid on the internet downloading games online and probably viruses. His computer is all messed up and he just entered full-screen of continuum for the first time and is exploring the game engine. He doesn't know ?ignore exists, and he probably doesn't look at the chat the first 20 times he plays. Quote

That's not legal. Swearing in a PM conversation is, because that's between you and the converser, but spamming or swearing at people you don't know is not legal. If I am online and I see this, the offender will be banned forever, no questions asked. Seriously, don't do this. Ok, if thats the case.. why the !@#$%^&* did i get banned for a week for cussing.. it was in a stupid PM towards Masaru.. so.. way to be morons. Quote
Shia' Tan Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 cause mas dont want to hear it, you were being disrespectfull to a mod, he was probably sick of you, and he had the power to do something about it Quote
Choose Profile Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 (edited) Ok, well I still have the a dozen screenshots of rc 1223 spamming and cursing at me which im more than willing to send to you, and Im sure Ill have more soon, because every time he is on the same time I am, he does it. BTW this is just rc spamming swears at me, none of these cases being a mutual conversation between me and him. I asked bomook about the spam swearing in pms, and he said he would ask d1s/doc, and came back a few days later and told me he was told its legal or nothing could/would be done about it. Suicide_Run Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 CP, this is where ignore.txt would come in or at least ?ignore comes in. Quote
tcsoccer and neptune Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 btw, i'm under 14 and i'm loud. you probly agree about the loud part Quote
Choose Profile Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 CP, this is where ignore.txt would come in or at least ?ignore comes in. Every other player in the zone can do the exact same !@#$%^&* thing, so by this logic alone, swearing shouldnt be illegal, because everyone can just ?ignore bad peoples who say bad wurds. Quote

BlueWyvern Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 (edited) -cough- Have you guys ever played a game like Halo that uses a headset? I'm in no way arguing with the swearing rule I am just pointing this fact out. >_>If you don't like the swearing rule, cuss in some other way... like another language so that kids don't understand! ESCANDAL0SA Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 i "cussed" in another language, and got warned for it. the person who warned me didn't even know wtf it meant. seriously, that's how stupid staff is. Quote
Choose Profile Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 but you still did it. ban her plz. Quote
ESCANDAL0SA Posted November 4, 2007 Report Posted November 4, 2007 (edited) "If you don't like the swearing rule, cuss in some other way... like another language so that kids don't understand!" - BlueWyvern so, according to this, swearing in another language isn't an offence.Brain, i just find it funny that your "swearing rule" is poorly executed and has flaws.you nor the staff, has never stated that swearing in another language is wrong. swearing is natural... it releases anger. every other word i say is a swear word.and you should see when i'm driving Edited November 4, 2007 by L0SA Quote
