After looking through all of the posts, there are several BOT ideas that haven't been done yet that I think may work in the zone:

 

1. Trivia

2. Event Points - another statistic we could display on website

3. Keeping track of player's most used ships/weapons/etc

4. Buy Additions:

a) square - create square of bricks around player (not going to do it)

:D bubble - no damage to a ship for a period of time - but slowdown side effects and such

c) freq - lets somebody buy a private freq for themself (done)

what are event points? do you get a point each time you win an event? this would be very cool

I think I can figure out something for bubble - I can do something like basically make the person invincible by flooding them with recharge so they basically have unlimted health and weapons for a few seconds -> but greatly reduce their speeds.

 

Square might be harder unless theres a way to choose the coordinates a brick falls.

1) Yes, possible. If done properly, it could work.

2 and 3) Very good ideas. You should also stick the data!@#$%^&* plugin back in (maybe upgrade it to MSSQL instead of using !@#$%^&*SQL, too). That's the one that records where the weapons are fired. It's also the one that does the automatic creditreset (yes, it was very stupid of me to stick it in there). The current no-creditresets-ever system sucks.

4) FOR THE LOVE OF OG NO! There are already way too many buyable items. MORE != BETTER! I even think it could do with a few less. Or maybe a rotation - different 6 every month (week?) or suchlike. I think right now, either keep current or keep less. Rotation might work if the zone becomes more stable. Definitely do not add any buyables.

I'll get the credit-reset stuff out of that plugin and put it with the buy stuff

I'd like the plugin that shows where weapons are fired back too - but that will be something I do after I get ur game bot fixed and ur credit system modfied to my liking.

I think why you are saying this is because there are so many displaying on the screen.

I think we can have more - but we need to display less at a time.

 

Here is my idea:

!buy - only show the items a person can afford/or the 5 most popular ones (or have a seperate flag for most popular)

!buy -showall -> add a flag so all can be displayed if somebody wants to see them all.

 

For most people this should make the list much smaller.

 

A rotation strategy is a possiblity. I am adding a .ini file for the credit system (this is where most of my modifications are coming from) such that the buy costs are no longer hard-coded - and the x/y coords for the basewarp plugin are not hard-coded since maps change.

What I can also add to it is another set up options that gives you to the ability to enable/disable it.

This way, all tm has to do is access the ftp, change the ini, restart the bot, and bam, only the options we wants to see on the buy list are there.

trivia: unless if has a TONNE of questions.... trivia is to be done by mods since they can have new questions each time blum.gif

I like your idea for the buyables, but I don't like the buyables you wanna add blum.gif I think you should keep it simple, make shields buyable.

make it randomly choose a small part of the map every few minutes, this will be the hill.

now it has to be able to tell which freq has control of the hill. (inside the random area)

 

if members of both freqs are inside the hill, it turns neutral (nobody gets points/countdown is stopped)

so it has to be only one freq inside the hill for it to do anything.

 

 

the next bit I'm not sure of. Halo has it so you have to control the hill for 60 seconds to get the preset prize. EG has it so the hill prizes a few 'ring points' constantly, so if your inside their hill your getting points.

 

maybe we could make it so it prizes creds after the time limit? or multiplies any points you gain while inside the hill?

im 100% for 'bubble' buyable and the .buy list would only show what you can afford

 

 

also

 

i would ask most nicely to either A: get rid of red totally or b: make red last a-lot SHORTER

 

 

bubble could just consist of shields with a simple lvz around the ship that looks like a bubble

I'm about done the improvement to only see things you can afford in the buy list with the added option of doing !buylist to see the full list.

 

I also made red last 10 minutes instead of 15, but I am probably going to drop it down to 5 minutes. 10 even sounds too long for me since most other buyables dont last longer then 2-3 minutes.

5 mins - 10 mill

Dropping the price is a reasonable suggestion. I'll drop it to 15 mil, from the 30 mil.

I like red should only be like 1-5 minutes long :/ cause ppl like tm barely survive when its bought blum.gif

and the price would then be adjusted accordingly

I think thats a reasonable price.

 

I'm going to write my own plugins instead of using plugins at mervbot.com because I like to have the ability to customize if required.

thats how it should be root,buying the freq is ok,but none can join unless they buy in,which is !@#$%^&*.

The !buy freq # was meant to be a simple additon so you can buy into a freq.

 

I'm not advancing it any further for the time being since there is no point.

 

Freqs are private, so the odds of somebody you dont wan't on it guessing the freq is low.

Its .howtoplay not .how to play. having spaces in a command is stupid, you should never do that and I dont know why SOS did for many things.

 

Oh, and !buy red now still costs the same, but makes bombs red too for added fun.

 

It makes bombs basically useless, which is a good thing to get past bomb lines and stuff, so use it wisely in those tight bases!
