Guest Guest Person Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 When I first downloaded and installed Continuum, it wouldn't play at all. I read and tried all the solutions suggested in this forum -- disabling all antivirus, then spyware detector, then cleaned the registry, then installed and reinstalled - nothing worked. Finally, I thought I'd try to load Continuum in Safe Mode + Networking. It loaded. Then, using trial and error - I eventually figured out what was causing Continuum to not load... it was a Service called "Pharos System ComTaskMaster" I was really surprised by this discovery... I have to use Pharos in order to print in my school, but still, I can load it whenever I want ~ so everything worked out in the end. So if you're experiencing the same problem as I did... look for Pharos System ComTaskMaster ~ if you don't have such a service, then try loading Continuum in Safe Mode - if it works, then it's something you installed that's interfering with the game! By trial and error, you can figure out what it is! Start > Run > "msconfig" > Edit "Services" or "Startup" Before you start turning stuff on or off - you should jot down what you have turned on originally. System restore point might be a good idea too. Try "Services" first by turn them all off. Reboot and try. If working, then turn on all MS services that were on before. Reboot and try. If that works, then hide all MS service, and start turning on other stuff. Don't just turn one on, then reboot... rather turn on half, and reboot. Hope this helps some of you!

Hakaku Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 If you notice, the person resolved his issue himself. He was posting here to inform others of his findings, and how he fixed his problem. This topic is going off track, and needless to add more (to mod, please lock)
