rootbear75 Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 All i can says is.... !@#$%^&*.. www.hp.com/blackbird
rootbear75 Posted October 13, 2007 Author Report Posted October 13, 2007 holy crap!i am so going to get one... once i save up the money...i could buy it now (and blow all of my savings right down the hole...)
»Dav Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 that is overkill, very nice though. I still bet you could save money building an equivalent from scratch.
rootbear75 Posted October 13, 2007 Author Report Posted October 13, 2007 there is a lower model for about 3000
Samapico Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 My 500$ computer (19" widescreen screen included) is more than enough for me
rootbear75 Posted October 13, 2007 Author Report Posted October 13, 2007 that thing would last a good while tho... at least 5 or 6 years before needing a single upgrade
»Dav Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 probably but people that buy one of those wont wait that long before they upgrade it i expect.
rootbear75 Posted October 14, 2007 Author Report Posted October 14, 2007 i have had my desktop since i was 13, and the only thing i needed in there was extra memory. Its just been recently where i cant play certain games.
»Dav Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 Ive had this laptop for 4 years now, its still good but its time for an upgrade. Self build all the way.
rootbear75 Posted October 14, 2007 Author Report Posted October 14, 2007 i just got my laptop 2 months ago.... i shoulda went for a more expensive model...
»Dav Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I always say if it was right at the time it was right full stop. Doesnt matter what you buy you will always think that, i have a whole bunch of things that i wish id spent more on but when i got them they seemd perfect.
rootbear75 Posted October 15, 2007 Author Report Posted October 15, 2007 well, not reallythis one was sold by the schoolso it had all the software in it, and a 4-year accidental protection warranty, but i could have gotten a better laptop for the same price elsewhere..
Incomplete Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I bought my PC a few years ago, not upgraded it and it still puts some of these new PCs to shame. I'd rather spend my money on my car
rootbear75 Posted October 15, 2007 Author Report Posted October 15, 2007 I bought my PC a few years ago, not upgraded it and it still puts some of these new PCs to shame.see, going overboard now, would save you money down the linecause you wouldnt have to buy another computer in a few years.this one would last you 5,6,7 maybe even 10 years
Incomplete Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I wouldn't spend that amount of money on a PC in 30 years
Samapico Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I bought my PC a few years ago, not upgraded it and it still puts some of these new PCs to shame.see, going overboard now, would save you money down the linecause you wouldnt have to buy another computer in a few years.this one would last you 5,6,7 maybe even 10 yearsWait 1 year, an equivalent PC will cost you 30-50% less, and will last 4,5,6 maybe even 9 years
»Dav Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I just put off my next PC purchase by upgrading the suspension on my mountain bike instead. That said i'm not going to be getting into the realms of solving x-ray crystallographic structures for a while yet so it can wait. Right now a new PC is a want thing rather then a needed thing.
NBVegita Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 For the price of even a $3500 computer, you could at year 1, buy a cheap $500 computer, and at year 4 spend another $500 for one that will be close to if not better than the $3500, and at 8, spend another $500 and have one much better than you imagined your $3500 computer could be. !@#$%^&* it only has a dual core unless you pay 5.5k. I've only paid over $1000 once for a computer and that will never happen again.
rootbear75 Posted October 16, 2007 Author Report Posted October 16, 2007 the thing is, while i can build a computer fine... i'm not in depth to the parts and stuff etc..also, finding a way to make it all fit together is another thing
»Dav Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 All you have to do is be sure your parts are compatible. You pick a motherboard, read which parts it accepts then make sure you buy the correct bits to match the description. After that when the bits arrive putting it all together is like one of those things you give to babies where the plastic shapes only go in one hole.
rootbear75 Posted October 16, 2007 Author Report Posted October 16, 2007 how about this, one of u wanna build me something close to that, and give me an estimate for how much its gonna cost?i'll pay you
Samapico Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 do you really need water cooling and a fancy case? These 2 things alone must be worth more than my whole computer...
