i have had my desktop since i was 13, and the only thing i needed in there was extra memory.

Its just been recently where i cant play certain games.

Doesnt matter what you buy you will always think that, i have a whole bunch of things that i wish id spent more on but when i got them they seemd perfect.

this one was sold by the school

so it had all the software in it, and a 4-year accidental protection warranty, but i could have gotten a better laptop for the same price elsewhere..

cause you wouldnt have to buy another computer in a few years.

this one would last you 5,6,7 maybe even 10 years

Wait 1 year, an equivalent PC will cost you 30-50% less, and will last 4,5,6 maybe even 9 years

I just put off my next PC purchase by upgrading the suspension on my mountain bike instead. That said i'm not going to be getting into the realms of solving x-ray crystallographic structures for a while yet so it can wait. Right now a new PC is a want thing rather then a needed thing.

For the price of even a $3500 computer, you could at year 1, buy a cheap $500 computer, and at year 4 spend another $500 for one that will be close to if not better than the $3500, and at 8, spend another $500 and have one much better than you imagined your $3500 computer could be.

 

!@#$%^&* it only has a dual core unless you pay 5.5k.

 

I've only paid over $1000 once for a computer and that will never happen again.

the thing is, while i can build a computer fine... i'm not in depth to the parts and stuff etc..

also, finding a way to make it all fit together is another thing

All you have to do is be sure your parts are compatible. You pick a motherboard, read which parts it accepts then make sure you buy the correct bits to match the description.

 

After that when the bits arrive putting it all together is like one of those things you give to babies where the plastic shapes only go in one hole.
