JDS Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 well 1.) 'save as ssme compatable does NOT work. [it saves it .. but i go to open in ssme and it says 'tile ID out of range'. i asume it doesnt actualy save it as ssme compatable ] 2.) zoom out issue's when tring to delete a large portion of tile (ex. a line from 1,1 to 1000,1000 ) it lags like crazy.. (ssme does not have this problem and runs more streamline) 3.) possible to have the entire screen for the map portion like in ssme with a floating tile box (would make it alot better) 4.) same as number 3 but with the radar (number 1 is my main issue. however if 2-4 are fixed, id have no reason not to use dcme..)
Samapico Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 1.) That is because DCME uses 24bit tilesets... SSME doesn't support them. You could try re-importing your tileset as 8bits before saving as ssme compatible. Though I think we had bugs with that feature anyway... will be fixed as soon as I can get DCME to work again after the big changes I'm making in it... 2.) Yeah that is a known problem... everything related to the selection is relatively slow. This is mostly due to the fact that selections can be of any shape... code-wise it adds alot of constraints that make it use more CPU/Memory. You could try the free-hand selection to select only the portions you really need deleted. (What's the point of deleting the whole map at once anyway )If you try out a very old version of DCME (before 1.2 I think), you'll see its selection is as fast as SSME... but only rectangular :/ 3./4.) Try the "->" button... You can completly hide the tileset and radar to have your map take the whole screen. Plus, moving the mouse over the selected tiles icon will bring the tileset temporarly.Radar does the same if you move your mouse over the x-radar icon
JDS Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 i guess that fair, im just an' old lover of ssme, always used it for years and the tile was always in bot left , it makes me sad and confused
