fantastic!pants Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 when i load continuum and try to play trench wars, a message comes up while it's loading saying "connection to server lost".. i don't know why it won't work. can someone please help?
★ Maverick Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Something on your computer is cutting/blocking/lagging out the connection to the server.Check if there are any other programs running in the background that might interfere. (Maybe even spyware/adware.)To be sure it isn't massive lag, run a trace in Continuum (let it run for about 50 cycles or more) and post the results. fantastic!pants Posted October 8, 2007 Author Report Posted October 8, 2007 ok i checked and made sure no programs were causing the problem, which turned out not to be the problem. and i ran trace for about 50 cycles, but nothing really came up.. not sure if that's supposed to happen or not. i also should add that i'm trying to access this via my laptop, which is getting internet signal from my home wireless internet.. could that be a problem?
mulchpile Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 I just upgraded and now I also get the "connection to server lost" message with each attempt to join a game. ????????
Hakaku Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Try to enter different zones, does it still occur? Have you tried entering a non-SSC zone?Run a trace of 100 cycles (never less), and post the trace back on this forum. Make sure you don't have a firewall blocking Continuum. Also, update your zone list. Here's how:-Click the "Zones" button-Remove all zones in green (double click their names ) - Do NOT press ok.-Press the "Download" button-Re-Add all of your zones to the list.-Press ok. Oh,and the only actual valid directory servers are " sscentral.sscuservers.net ssdir.playsubspace.com " So if anything else is listed, you can remove it. More importantly though, make sure Continuum is using the same resolution as your desktop (if it is, try lowering it), and try changing your color depth 8bit/16bit/32bit in the options menu. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v138/zacinu/SubSpacebannt2.pngPSPACE (SourceForge) - Alternative client (source) to Continuum
