A Suggestion on Experience

!@#$%^&*o, Hyperspace is a great zone but it is a very small zone, I've never seen more than 50 people on at the same time. We know the zone itself is good enough to beat TW on population so the only other aspect that keeps people away is the learning curve.

Learning the zone functions and what each thing means isn't too hard but it would help if there was an actual website with some suggested builds for newbies to work towards.

EXP

Money seems to be a lot faster to get now than it used to be and that's great, it actually seems to raise at the best rate. EXP, however, is far too slow in my opinion. It can be frustrating to have a ship with money but not be able to buy anything. Things like this can put people off and when someone mentions EXP being too slow in pubchat they often get verbally !@#$%^&*aulted and swore at.

My suggestion is NOT to raise EXP gain at all but just to have other ways of getting it. EXP is short for Experience and that means how you control the ship, use the utilities & items and how good you are in a duel. Why not have some events based on that which you can win EXP from?

Events could be:

Racing

* 'Balance' around wormholes

* First to reach stable orbit

Dueling

* Deathmatch

* Rabbit

* Zombies

* 2v1, 3v1 handicapped matches

Flagging

* Actually hold a few flagging games for new people (separate arena)

* Weighted-freqs

Weighted-Freqs: A 'new' ship wouldn't count as 1 slot on the freq, it'd count as half. This means more people could be on the freq without unbalancing it.

all these thing require a large pop, hs has a small pop.. therefore ur idea is moot..... besides, exp is fine as it is

id like to see a bit more emphasis with money on killing ppl with higher exp... not as bad as old hs with 1k+ per kill but when i get 6exp from some1 i expect like 200 from then instead o the 100 i get now. at 0-3 exp there is almost no change at all from default $

Though most vets will disagree with you (as you've stated), I agree and think exp should be done a little differently. Of course these days I don't even have enough time to fix bugs let alone improve the zone, at least it's on my mind.

Dueling tournament?

You know how redundant you sound?

You'd be giving the ppl with exp MORE exp.

Heck, I'd win it just for bragging rights.

I could also think of a dozen ways a professional flagging squad would abuse this system you propose.

Perhaps a thread detailing what you need in the way of coders would help? You could even appoint one of the devs or other staff members as a supervisor to get code written for you to review.

HS could very easily become the most popular zone available because it includes a type of character levelling through money and EXP. As a short-term improvement to EXP the requirements of items could be changed so that a newbie could build up their ship to make them at least a little useful for flagging. I would like to see some example builds on a real website for Hyperspace as well as it is worth it for the community aspect. The zone has a lot of potential that isn't realised at the moment. I would do the site bit myself but I don't know enough about the items yet, and the in-game community has not been welcoming to my questions.

Maybe it would be a good idea to get one of the current mods to agree to be mainly an event host or if none of them want to do it get a new person. Even if the events start very small it'd be a good boost to the zone.

I'm the most active of the coding devs at the moment, as sad as that is. So having other people work on things for me to review isn't going to help.
