Samapico Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 what's so fun about facebook anyway? I'm annoyed with all the "THISGUY HAS ADDED YOU AS A FRIEND ON FACEBOOK!!!1!OMGOMG JOIN" emails...
Samapico Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 so what? does that make it good? or just a bit less sucky?
Incomplete Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 They both suck, although I have to admit I am on facebook, only because it's to keep in touch with some of my relatives that I don't often see.
Hakaku Posted October 6, 2007 Report Posted October 6, 2007 Facebook seems to be popular with Canadians. There's nothing super-great about it, but it helps keep in touch with some old friends. (I found some people from way back before I moved, so it's pretty interesting)
JDS Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 im surprised at how many people use facebook.. it would seem my whole town (canadian) has an account and is active pretty scary lotsa subspace groups
Steigerwald Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 (edited) Haha this topic reminded me of an old post. Just dug it up This is an actual radio conversation between a United States Navy aircraft carrier (U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln) and Canadian authorities off the coast off Newfoundland in October 1995. (The radio conversation was released by the Chief of Naval Operations on 10/10/95 as authorized by the Freedom of Information Act.) CANADIANS:Please divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision. AMERICANS:Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision. CANADIANS:Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision. AMERICANS:This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course. CANADIANS:No, I say again, you divert YOUR course. AMERICANS:This is the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln. The second largest ship in the United States Atlantic fleet. We are accompanied by three destroyers, three cruisers, and numerous support vessels. I demand that you change your course15 degrees north...I say again...That's one-five degrees north.... or counter-measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship! CANADIANS:We are a lighthouse. Your call Edited October 8, 2007 by Steigerwald

Dav Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 facebook is very popular in the UK. I used to like it but now every time i log in 50 people want me to be a zombie, 10 want me to put a "better" wall on my page, 12 seem to think i need to be a warewolf.... the plug ins ruin it!
»Purge Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 you can block those applications so they dont annoy you anymore
Dav Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 yeah but 1000 more are made to annoy you, there is no escape!
Hakaku Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Yes, but you're not forced to click the page "# new notices", which is only subtly found in one place. And if your complaint is e-mails, you can tell facebook to not message/notify you for things.
»Purge Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 yeah but 1000 more are made to annoy you, there is no escape! lies unless u have over 500 friends with multiple personalities
