»SD>Big Posted August 26, 2003 Report Posted August 26, 2003 Maria Shriver - she's an emmy award-winning journalist / author um a big thing you forgot to mention is that she's from the kennedy familly, not blood, but still, i'd say that's fairly significant seeing as how her husband is running for govenor.
fresca Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 I don't think Arnold should win=/ I mean I am sure he is seroius about it and what not.. But there shud be an unofficial rule that you cannot be known as something else before doing it;p Sounds lame but I mean, its gay when someone votes for popularity, and this could happen with arnold. I also think the same way about a black man running for president. It would somewhat seem racist not to vote for him, and he could possibly win just because he is black and would be the first black president. I am not racist too, so dont go there.. HOWEVER.. Real politicians know better, so the populace vote doesn't always win, yay, so we dont get idiots for our government. *where'd Nixon come from? *
Guest crossfire Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 his long-time wife is pretty smart, I think doesn't she have some decent job? yes i heard that shes a reporter for nbc or some other tv acronym. she comes up once in while to cover special interview...that'll quiet anyone who wants to vote against arnold lol cuz s-*BAD WORD*- kill em on the evening news nice forum here

Trained Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 i just want to see funny stuff hapening i live in cali and im an anarchist Same here, <-Anarchist
Yupa Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 none of you fools are anarchists, get a dictionary
Trained Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 AnarchyPlural Noun 1. absence of any form of govermental authority or law 2. Disorder and confusion -American Heritage DictionaryRoget's II: The New Thesaurus
Evil Jin Posted September 21, 2003 Author Report Posted September 21, 2003 iok i want to be anarchist ok but i cant since im in a goverment that is what your sayin right akai?
madhaha Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 To be a true anarchist you'd have to renouce all authority and society. As you're using a community forum, wearing the clothing and eating the food that society created for you and actually buy things with money you're not an anarchist, just a sad little sod who waves a banner saying "down with the government!" then drives home along the public interstate. Get the picture? Anarchy sucks
shazbot Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Ok first of all get it right, it's Schwarzenegger. Second, you all need to shutup the only view of callifornia you have is from the outside in you don't know what kind of shape our healthcare systems, roads, trasnit systems, even DRINKING WATER is in bad shape all because of the power crises and how Davis handled it. Yes this election is possibly the biggest -*BAD WORD*-ing joke in US history, thats why you watch the daily show, best show ever especially for political humor. Don't sit here and talk about californian's like we fling our fesis at tourists.
madhaha Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Ok first of all get it right, it's feces. Second, you need to shutup the only view of callifornia you have is from the inside and you don't know how little we care about your healthcare systems, roads, trasnit systems, even DRINKING WATER problems or how Davis handled it. No this election is not the biggest -*BAD WORD*-ing joke in US history, thats why only people who live in california still hear about it. Don't sit there and talk about californian's like we care about them. Its really a post about who likes Schwarzenegger
Aileron Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Well, it is clear Schwarzenegger is going to win. The only other candidate who has gotten his name out is Coleman, and he isn't really respected. The California election isn't all that much of a joke. First off, it is a recall election. The purpose of it is more along the lines of getting Davis out then anyone in. Secondly, while it has over a hundred candidates, it only has about two or three LIKELY candidates. Almost all elections start with about that many hopefulls, the only difference is that primaries eliminate all but two in most situations. The only difference between this one and all other elections is that the primaries have been eliminated so they can get Davis out faster. As for Schwarzenegger's undefined economic policy, I don't criticise it. Since he is a front runner, if nobody defines a policy, he will win. If he defines a policy first, the other candidates can plan their policies to specifically defeat his. If the other candidates do so first, he can do likewise. If he doesn't do it and no one else does, he wins. If he does it first, he loses. If he does it last, he wins. Thus, he is making the correct move by waiting for everyone else to define a policy. However, no matter what, all candidates will define SOMETHING at the last minute. That way, at election time, they will not look like they are unprepared. I'm defining "last minute" as the time when it is early enough that his policies can be effectively advertised to populace in time for the election, but too late for a counter policy to be created and advertised before the deadline.
madhaha Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Cheer up, whats the worse that could happen? Its not like Davis will be re-elected
Aileron Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 What do you mean cheer up? I couldn't be happier with what is happening there. They are replacing Davis, a person who is too incompetant to run a taco stand, with someone who isn't a career politician. Historically, the only three presidents held in high regard who were career politicians were Lincoln and the two Roosevelts, and Theodore Roosevelt got half of his reputation for service in the Spanish American War. Most of the others got reputation for military service such as Washington, Jackson, and Eisenhower. However, other popular ones were Kennedy and Reagon, the former coming out of nowhere and the later from acting. I'm using presidents because I really do not know that much of politicans in general. Point being, most good politicians aren't career politicians.
Evil Jin Posted September 22, 2003 Author Report Posted September 22, 2003 i just hope that wh ever gets picked doesnt screw us over
Aileron Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 I really don't think you need to worry about that. Davis already screwed you over.
