New sysop

To all pilots who fought on the 17th Parallel,

 

You have probably noticed that Delic was not seen for several weeks now. He has moved to Uruguay, and apparently does not have Internet access. You also probably noticed that his pub map was not a complete success...

Well, it appears that I am now the new sysop of this zone

 

You're all probably thinking: "Another one?" ... Well yes, another one. But let's just hope this time will be more of a successful attempt to revive our beloved zone.

 

I will need some help, however. From all of you... I can't revive a dead zone without players in it, and you are these players. So tell your friends about 17th, and how great the settings are, and how they can actually become good by playing there because the settings require skills. Bring entire squads if you can... Even if you just spend a few minutes in the zone every day, it will help the zone. Remember that new players won't be checking out a zone with 0 players in it...

 

I will also need a staff. If you have any particular talents, may it be bot coding, graphics design, map making, tilesets, hosting, etc. and if you want to be part of 17th's resurrection, drop me a line in-game (?message Samapico:...). If you don't know how to do any of this, but still want to be part of it, leave me a message too! I'm not sure if the website's staff application form still works... so leaving me a message will work best for now.

Just so you know, nahtaiveL gniK and Exact are currently smods, so talking to them about becoming part of staff will also work.

 

The old ~2001 pub and settings are up at the moment. There might be some adjustments to that pub as a short-term solution, but there will be something developped so we can get some fresh blood in 17th, and hopefully have enough of a playerbase to host a league or something like that.

 

I will keep you informed about development here and in the zone news (yeah I know noone reads them... but still).

That game was a cut above the rest for its time. Sadly with the recent lack of good-story RPGs, I'm moving back to FPSs. Quite enjoying Rainbow Six Vegas ATM.
