MillenniumMan Posted September 14, 2007 Author Report Posted September 14, 2007 How about you just cross-dress and do that yourself? http://a259.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/27/m_b29610b04b217b82da70273c67e4adfa.gif Honestly? Would you want "this" passing out copies of our game?
LiDDiS Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 I say one of us trains to become a professional boxer. Then when it's your !@#$%^&*le fight on pay-per-view you can have the continuum logo inked on your backalong with appropriate links to download. It worked for GOLDENPALACE.COM!!!!!
larrythehamster Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 How about get "Continuum" tatoo'd on your penis... Then streak at the FA Cup Final / Superbowl if you're american... The tatoo could vary based on length...For example I could have "Download Subspace Today : www.getcontinuum.com"And someone like X`Terrania could just have the logo, or the letters SS...

Ganjaman USS Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 (edited) simplest and most effective way of getting subspace known again through a generation that might play it is via facebook and myspace. those are the mediums that people who are online a lot these days come online through, start facebook and myspace groups, share amongst your friends, if everyone here on SSForum joined up on facebook and created a group and all added their friends, it'd grow to at least 10,000+, if they added their friends, etc etc simple idea, but effective, and wouldn't take that much effort for those of you that arent on all that jazz :-) for anyone who's interested, this is the link to the facebook group I've started : http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5198877335 Edited September 15, 2007 by Ganjaman USS
sertse Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 Except of course, they are several SS facebook group already. The oldest and most popular being "I play a 2d space ship game" with 150 members... http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2204818732 Today's progress, my club site is up! Just a modified blog on blogger, still need to put a lot of things on it, so not giving the link yet... I also convinced my friend to make an Autorun for my promo cds so that is loads up a page I've made explaining SS + my club... before they click the button on the page the will load the standard Cont Installer...
Ganjaman USS Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 sounds like you're doing good work and you're right, I never actually !@#$%^&*umed there'd be other groups but on looking there are quite prosperous ones Interesting, then again the more groups the more chances that it'll capture newer audiences Another point of interest, if anyone actually has the time, is to have a much easier "Getting Started" guide, like your quick 5 page guide to being a pro and taking you from downloading to the end of your first flagging game, inbetween choosing ships, setting options, different chat commands, etc, all in plain english, so that everyone and anyone can at least have a fair hand at attempting to play it so far the getting started guides I've seen either don't go far enough into the explanation or are slightly disjointed, anyway thats just my 2cents.
LiDDiS Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 so far the getting started guides I've seen either don't go far enough into the explanation or are slightly disjointed, anyway thats just my 2cents. The best thing for new players would be having a tutorial zone. Call it TUTORIAL ZONE or something super creative like that, and have it on the default zone list. A fun to play tutorial gauntlet could be made covering all the basics and more advanced stuff. Lots of colorful lvz and AI bots too! And at the end of the lesson have a banner for each zone with a short description.

Except maybe RedWaller.. He could probably advertise about 25 times a day.
rootbear75 Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 yea, and getting a tattoo on ur penis hurts like !@#$%^&* from what i've been told
Shock Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Your mom finally told you about her tattoo?
Incomplete Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 The tattoo on my back hurt a fair bit, wouldnt want to know how it feels on your penis
Smong Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 Sertse, have you got a backup plan when "difficult" people want to play on a mac or linux?
sertse Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 (edited) Mission wasn't entirely successful. (Hence I have been hiding!). But more lack of planning on my part.., standing and handing doesn't really work, and I got to booked a table/stall that usually set up near the uni's main hangout for clubs to use... Give me "legitimacy" as well,...like I've a reason to be there and ain't so dodgy as a random handing stuff. (Fortunately, I guess? I haven't "wasted" the CDs - still got most of it on me to try this out.. better than just dumping it I believe!). Subspace works on Linux through WINE I heard, yes? Though that's quite difficult solution. I don't know really... I guess most mac/luniux player are already used to being excluded :S Edited September 22, 2007 by Sertse
